Clever, cool, amazing product
Very well built, you can actually see the quality. It is sturdy and very easy to use. This is one of the coolest products I purchased on-line.For an inexpensive product, it gives delicious espresso. I followed the instructions in the manual and the very detailed ones from the e-book and I got such a surprisingly delicious shot, with an impressive crema layer on top. I used 100% Arabica.In short, the operation is simple and intuitive and it is like this:- place the coffee powder into the filter basket and very softly tamp the coffee with the spoon. I didn’t use the spoon too much for filling the filter basket (I used a normal spoon for that) but I used it for softly tamping the coffee- place the filter basket on the main body and then screw the nozzle over the filter into the main body- fill the reservoir with hot water and the fix / screw the reservoir into the main body- turn MiPress downwards (invert it) over a cup and pump for dispensing the coffee shot. At home I don’t use the included cup but I am sure it will come handy when I will be travelling- the cleaning is also easy, I just wash every component after disassembling the device. It comes with a small brush also, maybe I will use it for my travels.Out of my experience with this amazing device I think there are 2 advices which are worth to share with everybody:1. Don’t over tamp the coffee powder! The product description says that but I found it to be really important advice. Once I tamped too much and then it was not easy to get the water through, higher pressure being needed on the pump. You will risk blowing up the seal of the pump.2. Pay extra attention when screwing the water reservoir filled with hot water into the device’s main body! Keep the entire mechanism upwards (vertically) until you make sure the water reservoir is correctly fixed into the main body. Check visually before inverting the device.

Perfect espresso
Have used my MiPress ,on a trip to the Bay Area, for 2 weeks.A Step by step diagram would be helpful, since there are a number of ‘rotations ‘.Remove the bottom cup, before pumping.My espresso has tasted perfect, with nice crema & no plastic aftertaste!I do tamp gently on the coffee basket, since I like it strong. MiPress added that the first few pumps provide the strongest flavor.

Update: The seller contacted me and sent another one. Here is hoping it lasts for a long time. The customer service is great and I hope the product is too.I purchased this for my sons birthday in March. One month later this is what my son says:“So I was making a shot and the pump section of the espresso maker made a funny sound and the pump button sort of choked. It finished making the espresso shot. I cleaned it off. Then I noticed where the water comes out of the pump and shoots into the coffee, a small plastic or rubber plug looking piece came out of the hole along with a silver metal spring poking out of that hole.”So the sellers had contacted me a few times before there was an issue and now it is past the return point it says. I don’t know what to do. I just spent money on a gift that was only usable for a month. So disappointed.

Not sturdy. May be good for like 2 camping trips.
When you first purchase the product, your mind is thinking: "Well this is nice. It comes with a bag and brush and the device looks cool and kind of sturdy." After the first use, I was thinking wow. This is nice, not a bad espresso with some crema on top. But the only bad thing is that after 10 shots, the pump starts to become loose and weak. Hot water starts to leak and squirt from the pump as you press on the pump which can lead you to burn your hands. Because the pump leaks, you have to put two times the amount of hot water in the tank to get at least one shot of espresso. There's really no screws or any good, easy method to change the pump so that's that. But hey it's a cheaper alternative to other portable espressos. But if you want something more long lasting, I suggest you get something else.

I’m totally impressed had to watch you tube to get it going. So fun. I even used Verona Coffee from Starbucks dark roast. I have a hot water machine so quick n easy. Take hot thermos with you
