It requires a lot of downward pressure and a bit of washing up liquid as lubricant, but eventually got there.The spring doesn't fit either, so luckily I had the old one from the broken clip still.

Fits and works as described, but had to use a lot of force to get it to fit and sand a small amount off the 2 fitting points to get it to fit in. Used a dab of washing up liquid to help it fit in.

Had a very old Dyson DC34 held together with elastic bands over a year now since the top clip broke. I've bought a new cordless Dyson but had loads of tools for the DC34 which I didn't really feel like binning. On the off chance I did a Google search and found this clip. I read the reviews about difficulty of fitting and watched the You Tube video as other reviewers suggested. Clip arrived and I sanded down the two side lugs and sprayed the area with polish as suggested. After a few attempts and a slight tap from the hammer the clip went in and I have a 'new' Dyson DC34. I am so pleased that I am going to order a second clip to hold as a spare. If I as a 68 year old lady can fit this clip, anyone should be able to do so. Thank you!!!

Arrived on time and seems to be satisfactory qualityit's one of the odd features of life that for a small spare part to be made available to the public it is inevitably has to be very expensiveit cannot cost more than 5p for manufacture?It's nice that it is available but the price seems to be very high for what you getI thought I was going to have a stroke fitting the thingit requires a tool like a screwdriver to ease the finger into the slot and its hard workI managed to get it fitted without scratching the machine too muchin operation it seems to be very stiff and doesn't rock up and down very easilyI squirted a little wd40 into the sides and maybe that will make it easier to rotateit seems to be holding the 2 parts together and I now have a working vacuum cleaner-so in that sense it seems to have fulfilled its functionbut - don't get me started on the dc35!

Hard to put on but saved out hoover when Dyson said it couldn’t be repaired ! Glad I found someone who sold it !

Worked really well - bit of a struggle to get it in place, but the youtube video really helps

Watched a fitting utube clip to discover you need to sand down the ridges on the locating pins and lubricate to clip in. It was very stiff and I was worried I would break something but just sanded a bit more off with very fine paper.and pressed down till it worked.Does the job well still a little stiff and does not have the writing on that the original did but the main thing is it holds the vac together as it should.

Much better than having to replace the whole device but not that easy to fit. The spring is not easy to locate and I had to resort to hitting the cap gently with a mallet rather that force it in by hand.
