Works perfectly.
Shark bites are a great invention. They work every time and you don’t have to wait for glue to dry. Key is to measure and mark the pipe length before inserting it into the fitting, to be sure the pipe is inserted all the way. Love these fittings. And they are approved to be concealed behind walls, which shows me the manufacturer’s confidence in their product. Easy to install and excellent value. Be sure to buy genuine Shark Bites as there are spin-offs out there and they may not be as reliable.

Genuine SharkBite
Used this to connect my new PEX-B lines to 1/2" copper lines for my 1980's "wet bar" sink.Easy to use. Just made sure no burrs where I'd cut the copper pipe - worked perfectly first try.Happy, will buy again.

The description is accurate as are the installation instructions. Particular attention to the recommended perpendicular cuts of the piping ends and thoroughly cleaning the piping slightly beyond the listed insertion depths is vital. I personally cleaned the residual dust, dirt and oils using a weak muriatic acid wipe and, following a drying period, installed the coupling with ease with no leakage during a 24 hour review.

Worked great
Pro: They make working with pex tubing way easier than the crimping rings to make the connections. Con: they are very expensive. I can only afford them on for small jobs. I can recommend them with a caveat, they are expensive for larger job.

Expensive, but they do work.
I bought these for some rework I was doing on my hydronic heating system. The previous owner had done some sketchy plumbing work. Since some of the plumbing is in very difficult to get to area, I decided to try these rather than sweat copper reaching into recesses (I'm just not that good). I was also converting parts of the runs to PEX, which meant trying to clamp the PEX in a recessed location. These are rated for the application and are working just fine. Been running the new system for a little over a month and, as I said, holding up fine. That said.... they are a little difficult to install if you have to reach (still easier than sweating pipe or clamping PEX). You do need to be sure they are FULLY seated.Overall... I love these. Just wish they weren't so pricey.
