I was very concerned about the quality of this compost bin. It resembles some poorer quality bins. I also didn’t think the carbon filters would last.I was wrong! I have used this bin daily for over 2 years (yes!) and it’s FABULOUS! I’ve quickly and gently rinsed the filters a couple of times. I fill this bin daily and empty it 2-3X a week! NO odors, NO bugs! On occasion it gets mold growing inside on vegetable scraps if the weather is warm...still no odors or problems! I wash it with hot soapy water and a soft dish cloth and It looks as good as the day it arrived! I couldn’t be more pleased!I’ve had 2 other bins that were absolutely rusted junk! You won’t regret this purchase!! It’s rare to find a product that is all the ad says but this one is!!UPDATE:This bin is now approaching 3 YEARS of daily use! I have washed and rinsed it 2-3 times/week since I bought it just shy of 3 years ago! It absolutely looks like it did brand new! I’ve gently rinsed the filters a few times to remove scattered vegetable matter. They are still working just as they did new. No odors, no bugs!!CONGRATS to this company for making a TRULY HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT!!!Thank you!!

Our compost bucket sits on top of our kitchen counter, in full view of the family room. This bucket looks handsome, the stainless cleans easily and with a quick dry with the dish cloth, looks very nice.The size is good for an actively composting family. we empty it every few days if there are 3 of us, if my son is home, then every other day. Which kinda says more about what a bottomless pit he is, than the size of the bucket.The smells are well controlled by the filters, and overall, I am very satisfied with the quality.We've been using it 5 months now.

The Bin seems well constructed out of a single piece of stainless steel. the inside is smooth and has no folds or creases for compost to stick in. It holds more than my old ceramic bin and is much more sturdy. It is easy to clean out when I dump it in the compost barrel outside. The lid fits snugly and the filters in the vented lid do an excellent job of controlling any odor. the handle is held on wit screws so we will have to see how that holds up, but so far (3 months) it is doing fine.

Nice looking (as ‘nice’ as a composter can look 😊).Good quality.The lid is very snug, which makes for better protection against smelling stinky compost.

My compost bin arrived and I was really impressed with the overall quality of the build. I love the stainless steel and the silicone handle. While I haven’t had the product long enough to comment on its durability or rust resistance, I can say that I have not noticed any food smells, flies, or any other undesirable results.What really blows me away is the GREAT customer service of Gold Star Kitchens/Ashton Purdy Company. The compost bin I initially received did not have a proper fitting lid. I contacted the company via email on a Saturday and within an hour I received a call from the owner of the company. I described the issue and he immediately apologized and explained that my situation was truly an anomaly. He offered to send out a new unit and even threw in a few extra filters. To have a company stand behind their products to this degree was remarkable. I will be referring people to this compost bin, this company/brand, and looking for other products they carry!

I bought this container to hold my kitchen scraps a few weeks ago and I couldn't be more pleased. It is sturdy and small enough to keep in the cabinent under my sink. I also purchased some biodegradable bagsto place inside so I don't have to deal with disgusting rotten food or cleaning the canister between emptying. (I have a weak stomach) The double charcoal filters do keep the smell contained; however they don't completely keep fruit flies out. I am going to experiment with adding some citronella oil to the filters to see if that helps and also to assit with keeping the stink down each time I open the lid to add more food scraps. I feel so much better when I have to throw out expired produce or leftovers knowing they will be used to help the planet by creating compost to create soil rather than it just going to a landfill.

Looks nice, no issues with the durability, and easy-ish to clean. The lid does an excellent job with odor control. I use a liner inside the can, but think that it would be fine if you chose to use it by itself. The lid is difficult to easily rinse off without getting the inside wet, but I don't think matters too much since it drains into the base anyhow.

I love the look and size of this compost bucket. However, we have only had it 5 months and the knob on the lid keeps coming off, the threading inside the knob is completely stripped. The hardware is low quality and now what I would expect for the cost.However, I would like to add that I contacted the company about my concern and they had a new knob in the mail to me within 48 hours with no additional charge. They were courteous and prompt in resolving my concerns. I value that level of customer service very much.
