Chongqing Fuling Zhacai Preserved Mustard Si Chuan Zha Cai (Pack of 10) (Soy 2.82 oz, 10 Packs)

This was my first time trying this product. I bought it because my favorite Chinese food cooking show talks about it a lot as a side and sometimes as an ingredient. I would not have been able to find this in my local super market. The flavor is nice, briny with a hint of something like anise or maybe Chinese 5 spice blend. The texture is crunchy with a bit of give... For lack of better words. I quite enjoy the texture. I had it with Chinese style salt and pepper wings and fries rice. The pickled greens went really well with the fried chicken and rice. This product comes in one meal sized packets so no waste. Overall, very nice product.

These are my second favorite brand so far, I love the flavors and add them to soups, including ramen.

It is very tasty and convenient. I usually buy cans of whole zhacai mostly to use as an ingredient to be cooked for a part of a dish. When I am eating it by itself or use as a topping, I slice or shred, desalinate and season it. Lately there are so many imported foods with p65 warning. It may be labeled to avoid possible lawsuits even though it may be harmless, but it is not a good feeling. There is no p65 warning on this product and that is one of the reasons I picked this.

I like briney pickles and these are sweet. I really don't like these but maybe someone else will. There are a lot though. So that sucks.

Liked the packaging which reduces waste. I got the soy flavored, but I can see how the spicy might be nice to have in the pantry too. It is like the canned Chun Tsai in flavor. Stands up to the Szechuan peppercorns without competing. Highly recommend.

Meets my expectations, packed well and the product crunchy. Reasonably priced.

Wife eats them, not me. She says they taste ‘fresh’ Similar or a little higher than the price in Chinese supermarket in Dallas, which is 3 hours away so this was a fair bargain. This requires 100 characters, seriously, for mustard strips? Well I’ve entered close to a hundred but Simms still complaining, so sorry for all the filler.

these are more on the sweet side, i've had saltier, but still very good!
