Microsoft Surface Pro 4
I just received this today as I'm working from home and realised that also trying to study and use my Microsoft I should really have it at head height to ensure I'm sitting and working with the correct posture as much as I can. Set up was easy enough to do. The surface pro 4 is probably a little bit heavy (796g roughly) for the arm but it will hold it if you get the angles right. Any slight changes and the arm will droop but it's easy enough to adjust to get everything back in the air again. It seemed like the best choice of arms available that would hold my surface pro 4. Service was prompt too so very happy with that. UPDATE: 6 months plus later. Still incredibly happy with this purchase for my Microsoft Surface Pro 4. I can leave the arm positioned high up and it will still be in the same position the following morning. Great for being able to use the Surface Pro as a computer monitor with ability to plug in a keyboard via the USB port on the side or for those who prefer using a Bluetooth keyboard. Update: over 1 year on. Still really happy with this. It's still very sturdy and stable for using my tablet as a computer and saves me from so much neckache.

Great tablet support
Wanted a tablet support to use in bed and after much searching decided this looked the business and really glad I bought one, It has a good bracket I fix to metal siderail on bed and tablet can be adjusted to any position for use leaving you hands free which is great for reading etc. When properly set up with best tightness on the tension knobs I have no problem using my fire 10 tablet and has a good sturdy feel which I love and does not flop about as some seem to say as I have it correctly adjusted . Reading the negative reviews it is obvious some people can't adjust the bracket and arms properly, there are knobs on the arms to adjust the tightness and there is a knob on the bracket which must be taken out if not on the position of the hole you use and if put on the correct position to tighten the swivel then everything is sturdy and no flopping about as some say!!! One other thing is that in the box comes an Allen key which is there for a reason if you think about it!!! Its purpose is to tighten the little button head bolts which are on the arms and this will add a further tightening of these if needed. So as usual most negative reviews come from people who are not familiar with the points I mention but it's common sense really!!!!! and i would like to add i have no connection or interest in the company connected to this product just found myself a little miffed reading bad reviews for what I find is a brilliant item

Nice and sturdy
I've only had this for three weeks so I can't say much in terms of long term use but so far I love it. I use it primarily for playing my Nintendo Switch and as a tripod for filming overhead table shots. For the Switch, it fits very securely and manages to keep in place despite the weight. My arms get tired if I play it in handheld mode for too long so I have it set so I can play while I'm lying down. I like how the clamps allow for access to the charging port when I put my phone in when watching videos. I've recently gotten into illustration and wanted to film my work in progress. I'd looked into camera tripods but they were a bit more than I was willing to pay for something with I'd only casually use. I've been using this instead, just tying my camera with some string to secure it since it doesn't fit quite right. It works wonderfully. It's so easy to angle it just as I want, it keeps is position. The only thing is that there's no way to secure the position at the base so I do find that at times, it 'swings' a little to a stopping point. Not sure if I can explain it well enough but it's not a big deal if you've found your sweet spot and you're not adjusting things all the time.

It's a simple idea.
Way back when I was sent home because of Covid19 (don't start arguing about whether Covid19 exists or not as it doesn't change the story, I was sent home). After about 3 months my employers told me that they were sending a computer so that I could work from home. A laptop was being sent according to my boss. Imagine my horror when a Surface Pro 5 arrived. For those who don't know what that is, it's basically a tablet that has a squishy keyboard attachment. This is not a device that you can use on your lap. I already have a laptop but my work requires a level of security slightly above your average requirement so I'm stuck with the Surface Pro 5, a device that has been superceded by the Surface Pro 6 and the Surface Pro 7. Now I'm a smart man, don't be offended by that, I am and I can prove it. It took me a few days to beg, borrow and steal a desk, chair, keyboard, huge monitor and tangled mass of cables, thus turning the crappy Surface Pro into a desktop computer. I had to put the phone and router on the desk as it was the only place that they could go. I considered getting a mouse (remember them?) but was given a "scratch pad" and I was ready to role play working from home, Zoom meetings wearing just a shirt for example (try it for yourself before you judge me). After a while I hooked up my laptop to the TV next to my desk and my hobby started to take up space in my workplace (I make compilation videos for a popular website with the word "Hub" in it's name). So I'm running out of space and it dawned on me that I should put the Surface Pro behind my monitor to create more space. My monitor is as far back as it can go and there's a two inch gap between the desk and the wall. The Surface Pro fell off the desk, it's a terrible thing to use, it won't stand vertically on it's own and I'm angry with gravity and I turn round to tell my girlfriend exactly that. She's sitting on the sofa with her drawing table in front of her, she's got an art degree and she was doing an illustration for a friend of ours we hadn't seen since before lockdown as the club is closed. It's a private club for like minded people and she was illustrating a scene from when we first met at the private club in town. I remember it well, I took the photo she was rendering on paper and that was the first time I saw her, entering a group of men. Anyway, she was doing a picture for each of our friends who were with her that night, she's very good, most people can't get limbs to overlap but her drawings are always perfect. This was the third drawing she'd done and the answer to my desktop problems was right there all along. Attached to the bookcase behind her was an angel poised lamp, a modern strip light, not the traditional one with a bulb inside. She used it to illuminate the paper from above. She has a different one with a magnifying glass set in a ring of leds for the detailed bits. The simple solution presented itself and after a few minutes online I found this tablet holder. It's the same versatile principle as the lamp but has lockable joints to give stability to the Surface Pro which is a bit heavier than a lamp but it's very stable and I've managed to get the Pro out of the way, thus releasing a bit of space on my desk. I may buy a second one with a camera attachment to go in the bedroom as I could position it on one of these holders very easily. Congratulations to the person who thought of making this, I can think of many more ways to use it.

I expected this to be one of those flimsy things like those inexpensive desk lamps you see everywhere. Barely usable, but still useful, compared to the alternatives. I got a big surprise just opening the box. The base is very well designed, providing several mounting points for the light fixture. It is rugged, much heavier than any base I’ve ever seen on a similar swing arm lamp or other device. The clamping mechanism is very sturdy. The clamp surfaces are well cushioned and shouldn’t mar any surfaces. The flexible arms feel like they are made of heavier gauge metal than common lamps of this type. They tighten well and there’s even a tiny Allen wrench for further tightening. I’m using it with an Acer Windows Tablet right now that ways more than a pound. The mount does not creep down because of the weight. Obviously, if you type on the screen, the device will bounce, but using your other hand to steady it is all it takes. I purchased a tiny Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad to avoid this problem and it works well. Overall, this is a highly useful mount and well worth the price. Jerry

I’ve been using this to hold my iPad, and it has been absolutely revolutionary. I love the industrial look of it, and I found I could thread a Lightning cable through it without the arm losing much mobility at all. The grip on the device is tight, and the device can be rotated 360° with no loss of stability (obviously my cable could get twisted, but that’s just my own particular setup). The arm is extremely manoeuvrable but still fairly rigid so that it doesn’t suddenly drop or lower your device. I disagree with the guy who used it to read his Kindle in bed; I use it for my iPad at all sorts of angles and never had a problem. My only possible suggestion for improvement would be regarding the clamp: it’s plastic, and it’s only attached to the arm with a small bolt that tightens into a groove in the arm, so with a lot of movement it’s possible the bolt could come loose or the plastic could crack, though I haven’t seen any evidence of either phenomenon. There’s also the very minor annoyance that the top grip of the clamp is completely flat, so if the surface you clamp to has a ridge on the edge, like mine does, the clamp won’t actually be gripping to much surface area at all. Mine still seems pretty sturdy, though, even though it isn’t gripping to very much. Overall a good quality product that does exactly what I wanted it to do.
