Wyre Direct Adjustable Gate Hinges Pair 350mm 14" Galvanised Heavy Duty Hook and Band Stable

I fitted these to a pair of 4 metre x 1 metre gates I made. You need seriously thick screws or coach screws to attach the plates to the gate posts, and i used coach bolt and screws to attach them to the gate. The fact both hinges on each side are adjustable makes fitting really easy. The next thing is to buy some nuts to fit the hinge pins and force them on to stop someone just lifting gates off, or drill and put a bent nail through. Pity there is not already a hole in the design for this.

Good quality product that is sturdy and works well

I like the product but just be happy with the overall measurements to ensure they suit your requirements if using for doors (as they are more ideal for gates). Mind were fine but i could see people getting caught out if you don’t review the distance from the back of hinge to door leaf (leaving a sizable gap). One needs to tighten the holding nut and a number of mine slipped on the weak bolt tread so that was poor. I will have to source some more nuts to add in locking nuts to cover come the damaged tread (it wasn’t because I over tightened the nut-just poor tread formation)

I'm delighted with these heavy duty hinges, I bought them to replace T- Hinges as I was fed up replacing them for quite a heavy back gate, the only downfall is they arrive without fittings which I was able to purchase at B&Q. I've actually purchased another set of these hinges for my sons house.

These hinges have been used to attach a home built set of folding steps to access the loft space in my garage. The steps weigh over 50kg but these hinges are easily upto the task.

Shape of this is different, looks less modern, that's ok but the customer should not be mislead
