Darn Tough Vermont Women's Team Micro Crew Ultra-Light Hiking Socks

I bought these primarily for winter running. I just got back from my first run in these in 27 degrees. They kept my feet comfortable in regular running shoes (non-gortex) without getting cold. I wear a size 6 (or 6 1/2) shoe [women's] and ordered a small. I will say they are maybe a little loose but not unbearably. I'm not sure I would want to go on a long training run/race with socks that were too big like this but they work for shorter distance for me. This likely isn't a problem for bigger feet but I know it can be a problem for those of us on the smaller side. The orange color is ok. I'm wearing them with pants though so it's not real important.I also want to point out that they are much higher than they appeared to me. These go about 5 inches up my calf. I normally prefer a shorter sock so I'll look into the other styles.I love that they have a lifetime warranty though!

These are great with my hiking boots. I bought these for a two week hiking trip out west and they did a great job keeping my feet dry and no blisters!

After several attempts at running in the cold and wet New England winter in regular cotton socks, I decided to try these guys out. I literally won't wear anything else now; while they are not the thickest or warmest socks available, they keep my feet dry and warm in normal winter running conditions. They are lightweight and dry very fast after washing (I've washed in the washing machine in cold water and hand-washed them), and have kept their shape without any noticeable wear. I've got to get another pair of these soon! Regarding sizing, they fit true to size for me: I wear a women's 9-9.5 shoe, and the medium fits perfectly.

My wife liked these for hiking and cold sporting events.

The ankle/calve portion of the sock is a little loose on my skinny ankles. I have worn these for three days and one 12hr hospital shift. They do not provide compression but do not hold any odor after putting them to the test. Great everyday sock or travel item.

The toe area is not a smooth fit. I really don't understand the good reviews since the fit around the toe is always my top sock requirement.

These socks are the best!!! I live in them. My feet do not sweat, and they stay warm and toasty. I don't ever wear any other socks now that I have these. I ordered six other pairs, and I'm getting rid of all the other socks I own!

I love these; they're comfortable for long time wearing. The padding is just right and they hug the foot nicely. I only wish they offered these (and the non-padded styles) in some traditional solid colors. Then again, maybe their personality (sockonality?) helps make these socks a joy to wear.
