Forest Master USAB 7" Cast Iron Log & Kindling Splitter

Very highly recommended. Not as good as a powered equivalent but does the job, is certainly made well and I imagine will last forever.

We live in the Hebrides and burn a peat fire but need plenty of kindling to get the fire started. This device makes chopping logs for kindling so much easier, quicker and safer. I enjoy using it so much that I find I can’t stop using it. Some hardwood logs still require a good hard bash, but it works. Since it’s cast iron, you wouldn’t want to hit it with your mallet, otherwise it looks like it will last. I’ve no connection to the company and didn’t receive any incentive to give a good review. Just a satisfied customer. 😊

Not good for splitting logs. It’s a good tool but only for kindling. It’s a good bit of kit.

This is a nifty piece of equipment, smaller than I thought but don't let size fool you, it's Sharpe and has really helped in chopping the logs and kindle, has made life alot easier, I mounted mine on a post.

Solid strong and sharp - bolted to a workbench its brilliant. Worth paying for the real thing. Makes cuting kindling a doddle and can handle big logs as well if you whack it enough times!

I bought this to make kindling out of scraps that I have. For that I’d give it 5 stars. But if f you want it to split small logs (like the sales video), I’d think again. With a hand mallet you’ll be there all day.

I am amazed with this product with how easy to use on damp and dry wood and with Lidl effort I am glad that I have picked it up from Amazon thanks to all Amazon staff and the manufacturer

Only used it once and the head has chipped off. Literally only split 2 soft wood pieces then noticed the head was all chipped. Very poor quality

Fantastic tool, much easier and safer than using an axe. Less energy needed to split logs.
