Put it in the microwave for 2.5-3 minutes and it provides good heat for about 10 minutes. It's still warm after that but doesn't provide a lot of pain relief.The size is perfect for neck, lower back, or leg because it can wrap around slightly and provides a bit of weight with the size.The material is super comfortable on both sides.It has a slight smell after warming up but not nearly as bad as the homemade or cheaper versions that we've used in the past. The smell is only noticeable the first minute out of the microwave and only if you get close to sniff it.

I really like the quality if this bag, it really seems someone put thought into the design, it has a plush side and a velvety side and it also has a cotton case that comes with it, I am guessing it depends on the type of fabric feel you prefer, I like all of them. The instructions say to only warm up for 2 minutes, I felt that it was not enough heat after two minutes but I tried it on my shoulder and it still really helped with soreness but the heat was dry, when its advertised as a "wet" heat bag. The next time I heated it up for 2 minutes, waited a bit, turned it over and did another 2 minutes, and it had much more heat and I felt the "dampness" that was advertised as "wet" heat, I found it pleasant but I am not sure if everyone would like it. The bag does not have any smell, I know some come with lavender but I prefer no scent. I definitely think its worth buying, great product. LOVE IT!

I absolutely love this hot pillow. We get FRIGID nights where I live and sometimes we forget to put another log into the woodstove at 2-3am to keep it going. Hubby is a polar bear so he doesn’t mind the chill but this keeps my feet warm, I use it in my shoulders for aches and to relax muscles on my back, or I can snuggle up to this and can fall asleep in no time. Not too big or small, decent weight and the cover is cute and the material has lasted very well.

I bought microwavable heating pad but did not pay that much attention to the instructions. I ended up heating it for too long a time which caused some small holes in the fabric. It so happened that the company got in touch with me 10 days after the pad was sent to me and asked me how I was enjoying it. I confessed to the company that I mucked up and sent them a picture of my pad showing the defects (all of my own making). They gave me precise details as to how to heat the pad properly and then sent me a brand new one. Needless to say, I am totally impressed with the customer service. The pad works wonderfully well, and so now my toes are nice and toasty when I turn in for the night.
