Looks nice but in practice
Exactly what Helen said. Looks nice but in practice, a very poor design. To add, the doors are not wide enough for the cars plus fingers, so you have to kindof slide the cars out holding the top. Try finding a 12 month old who can do that.

Disappointing - great idea crudely executed
I thought this was an ideal toy to get my 18month old son. I was wrong in so many ways! 1) It's made of very cheap plastic and the cars squeak horribly.2) The key is too awkward for my son (or anyone, really!) to use as the retaining string on it is so short.3) The doors, even once unlocked, are too fiddly for him to open with any ease as there is only a tiny projection of plastic to pinch.4) Perhaps most crudely, the three garages are not partitioned so once the whole box has been moved or wrestled with to unlock the cars tend to go askew and won't come out - my son keeps hurting his hand by putting it in to retrieve a stuck vehicle and trapping it against the plastic doorway.Really disappointed by a great idea for a toy, so badly executed. Its days in our toy cupboard are numbered!!

I first bought one of these 26 years ago and now my 1 year old grandson plays with it. Wonderful toy - he loves putting the cars (or any other small thing) in the garage and shutting the door and surprise! .... something is inside which can be pulled out! He is just starting to want to use the key which is interesting too. My vintage one has become a bit brittle and one of the cars is now cracked. I am thrilled to have found this - I thought it had long since been discontinued. The colours are beautiful, the cars are just right for a toddler, the key is attached so can't be lost as it is all so well made. I cannot remember what I paid all those years ago, but this is worth every penny at today's price for the many hours of play it will give. I have only just ordered the new one so I hope the quality is the same!
