4x Magnification, perfect for close up work.
I wear varifocal glasses as I am short-sighted, and I need the "vari" part to be able to read small print, such as in newspapers or books. Sometimes, though, I like to wear my contact lenses which makes reading difficult as I can't focus on the small print vary well. For that I have a pair of these with 1.5 magnification. I often do close up work with tiny objects as part of my hobby and so I purchased a pair of these with the 4x magnification. I was a little sceptical at first as one reviewer said that the magnification was restricted to a tiny part of the lens. Turns out that was a load of nonsense. These 4x reading glasses are perfect for my needs. There was hardly any distortion around the edge of the lenses themselves, though what was there of it was vary subtle. After all, these are basically a pair of magnifying glasses stuck on the bridge of your nose, so of course there will be a little distortion in your peripheral vision, but nowhere near as bad as some have claimed. There are perfect for my needs and I am happy with them. Lightweight and fit well too.

Well pleased with these inexpensive reading glasses
Well pleased with these inexpensive reading glasses. I was not at all sure about buying glasses online but it has worked out just fine. These are actually better than a pair I bought from an optometrist - and cost less. A caution here about the strength of reading glasses. If you are thinking of buying reading glasses with a strength above 4 (four) dioptres, first check with an optician.

Meh!
I only need a 1.50 for reading and working at PC but unfortunatley these just don't cut it. It seems that only the very centre of the lens is actually magnifying. If I look to the left or right, the writing becomes v. slightly blurred and it is a strain to read. I have a many pairs of cheap throwaway readers and these are the only ones that are like this. My local Morrisons used to have them at about £2.50 a pair and they are much better. The lens on those are much flatter than these and looking left and right is the same as straight ahead. I work with a large monitor and tend to look round the screen without moving my head. Not possible with these due to the blurring on periphery of my screen.

Exact!
Arrived promptly and the beautiful blue as advertised. I am hoping to make a cross stitch picture for my friend by September and prior to these arriving I could not see well enough to start it, never mind finish it! They fit snuggly and now the needle is going in the right holes. Thank you.

The lenses are made of plastic, not glass.
If I could leave no stars I would. The lenses are made of plastic, not glass. Thus they only provide the required magnification if you look directly through a tiny area in the centre. If you shift your eyes slightly, each lens provides a shifting blurry mess.Absolutely useless, headache inducing, and possibly bad for your eye sight. I'm at a loss as to why anyone would give this product a good review.

reading glasses
These are ok, i ordered the +1 and everything seems to work, I can see.. yipee, however a small annoyance is the lenses are only good for looking straight ahead at the correct resolution, and they do not focus if you turn your eyes left and look, or right and look. Over all though happy as very good value

Good for reading...
I ordered these and although I am not so keen on the shape now they have arrived, they are good for reading. They are the shape I think an older person would prefer but nothing wrong with them, just personal preference. I am using them for reading at home. I find now that I am getting a headache wearing them but will see with time.

Lens quality appears poor
They look great, like expensive ones, but the lens quality seems poor since they made my eyes feel funny when trying to read through them, even just a restaurant menu. Had to stop using them.
