Nyko Power Shell Case - Hard protective case with built-in 5,000 mAh rechargeable battery, integrated play and charge cord, kickstand and game/SD Card storage

Probably one of the best cases I've owned and the best case you can buy for the Switch. I was extremely surprised by how well thought out this case was - a lot of love went into its design. Nothing feels cheap - quality materials were used to make it.The outer shell is a sort of sleek rubberized texture so it doesn't easily slip out of your hands. There's no flamboyant design - the scattered-pixel pattern is subtle and a nice added touch. It's a mature look that won't embarrass you when you take it out in public, and there's nothing that blatantly advertises it to would-be thieves. The hinge operates smoothly when you open it - there's no creaking or any sign that it could break easily.On the back, there is an indent on each side which I thought was neat because it allows you to grasp the case one handed with more confidence. It's needed because the overall depth of the case is thicker than your average carry-all. They feel positioned well enough to allow you to actually play the Switch while still in the case, though the top part of the shell will be open while you do so.Along the front of the case where it opens, you'll find a micro-usb port to charge the built-in battery and next to that are four indicator lights that shows its charging progress.Inside, you'll be happy to see that the Switch will rest on svelte padding. The charging cord for the built in battery wraps around the perimeter with ease and locks into place some built in clasps. This makes stowing and going much faster since you won't have to mess with tangled cords. Its length should let you bring the Switch out of the case far enough to sit it on a table or use the Switch kickstand if you prefer. The USB C plug rests strategically at the bottom where the Switch's port will be located while in the case.The stand unfurls without feeling like you're going to break it and the case gives you two angles to set it at. Because the stand is built in, the entire base of the case acts as stable foundation for the stand and the Switch won't fall over easily. The Switch is well ventilated despite what a previous review states (which was posted before the case was even released).It holds twelve games total, two to a slot. Above each column of game holders is a microSD slot for storage. Games snap in easily and securely and are removed with minimal effort. They won't be falling out during travel.Con:A Switch with Nyko's own thin case won't fit. That's disappointing as it would be cool to see the two compliment each other. In fact, no Switch wearing a case will fit and it must be naked.Secondly, you can't really fit anything else inside besides what it advertises, though you won't really need to. You won't need an AC adapter anymore since it has a built in battery for charging. Still, you can't throw a couple joy-con wrist strap attachments in with it if you really wanted to.Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this case. I used to attribute third party companies like Nyko and Mad Catz with cheaper plasticky accessories, but if Nyko is trying to rebrand itself as a more boutique accessory maker, this is absolutely a step in the right direction.

Its a nice case and all, but a bit disappointed in the charge amount offered by it, along with what they state the battery is. I've already taken the device apart to see its internals, along with removing a button that causes it stop charging once you close the lid, which is stupid as the case stops charging your switch once the switch hits 100%, so it's odd they put that in there. Now inside the unit the battery itself states it's 5000mah, but upon looking it up, it seems listed as a 4500mah battery, which would better explain why after killing my switch to 20%, the case with a full charge only managed to bring it up to 75% charge, meaning ~55% charge from the case which I'm a tad disappointed in as I really wanted at least a full 100% charge from the case, doubling my play time. I have found a 6000mah battery online that can fit in the case, hopefully it will give me what I want.On another note with the case, it seems some of the coating on the outside of it is already wearing away from scratching it with my fingernail. Beyond those two things though, I like the case and it works well.

So I'll start with the pros. The case itself feels great. The rubberized exterior allows for a firm grip and I've never felt like the case was in danger of breaking in my travels so far. The charging cable inside is more than enough in length to allow me to comfortably hold the switch on the plane and have the case sit on the chair tray table. Even without the battery, the case feels like it was worth the purchase.That said, the battery charges my switch to about 50% power. On a long international trip, you better hope that the seat comes with a plug, or switch will be dead by the time you land. Closing the case can be a bit annoying. Often time the charge cord inside will sit in places where it doesn't allow the case to latch. It's not a huge deal, but it's a minor annoyance every time you want to close the case. The latch itself also feels like it's not built for durability. The push button already is losing some of it's clickiness, and I fear the day it gives out in the middle of a trip.

This is a nifty case that holds your games, switch and can charge at the same time. A commuter case. However. Unlike most cases this does NOT protect your Switch. This slipped out of my hands and immediately opened up once it hit the ground so my switch came out on the concrete. Upon receving it Even before putting my switch in and didnt hear a satisfying click when closing it to know its securely locked. However when i try to pry it open it seemed secure just not enough for a fall to the ground. My neon joy con got scratched and it was my daughters favorite one.

It is hard on Lithium batteries.I used a dremel to remove the piece of plastic that hits the Killswitch when the lid is closed. Brought this for my son for Christmas and he is very happy with it. So much easier to take his switch out and about without the worry of it going flat

Este case en mi opinion es el case perfecto ya que es de material rígido que protege muy bien la consola de cualquier daño producido por caidas, el añadido de una bateria de respaldo para cargar la consola me parece una función genial ya que si se llega a descargar la Switch puedes seguir jugando mientras el case la recarga. Tomando en cuenta que ninguna bateria de respado ofrece los mAh exactos ya que existe una perdida de energia para su propio funcionamiento, esta bateria aproximadamente me ha dado entre un 80 y 90% de carga para la Switch lo cual lo veo exelente ya que te asegura otras 3 hora de juego aproximadamente dependiendo de que juego se trate. El soporte interno que tiene para la switch es perfecto ya que tiene un angulo mas comodo de vision que incluso el que tiene integrado la propia Switch de fabrica, cuenta con dos angulos de vision el primero casi idéntico al que ya trae la Switch y el segundo un poco mas inclinado que es mi favorito por lo antes mencionado. En general lo recomiendo ampliamente ya que cualquier case es solo guardar la consola y ya mientras que este te ofrece varias funciones extra super utiles.

I bought this case to be used whilst traveling for 3 months and after using it for 6 weeks it's still a functioning fantastic product.The overall design is sleek and slim, it has a really lovely feel to the outside, a grippy material that stops it sliding but also doesn't scratch or tarnish. The front cover also has an excellent subtle design.It feels like it protects the switch totally, nice and snug. There is no extra room for additional controllers but that's ok as the sleekness is appreciated compared to bulky extra storageThis case certainly isn't built to protect the switch from a massive impact.... It's definitely more of a techy case that you have to treat with some care. I wouldn't want to drop it from a height.However it is perfect for putting in your bag... I really love how little space it uses. Amazing when everyspace counts in your travel backpack.The internal extra battery is a great thing to have. It maintains the charge of the device when in use so best to use it when the console is around 60% if you want to play at the same time. You can also leave it to charge the battery up if the device is not in use and the case is open.The cable has a good length and is easy to store back in the case.It does feel a tad thin and flimsy like a good yank would do it damage, however like the rest of the case it's designed to be functional and not roughly handled.You can't store the device and charge it with the lid closed. Some people have complained about that, however it's perfectly reasonable as the switch and battery's in general get hot whilst charging.... You don't want that heat contained in a small place!It has good storage for games, 12 extra in total which lock into place nicely. 2 SD cards can be slid into special areas which also feel like they won't slide out.Last but not least the case also has a foldable cradle stand for the switch so you can flip it out and use it to stand the device up. Feels extremely stable and secure. The switch can't slide or fall off at all. The cradle also snap nicely back into place when you store it.Combined with grippy exterior of the case this is a perfect thing to use on a plane if you want to detach the controllers etc. You can also charge the device with the spare battery whilst it's in the cradle.I didn't use the screen protector provided so cant comment on it.The micro fibre cloth is really really nice though as it covers the length of the switch... I use it for extra protection when closing the lid.Packaging on arrival was good, looked like a cool product.Overall this is an extremely well made case, you can tell that a lot of thought and care has gone into designing this and it is well worth the money. I'm quite particular about caring for my equipment and dislike badly designed products!

El acabado de la carcasa exterior es increíble, no es de material liso, por lo tanto no se resbala en superficie, por dentro cuenta con almohadillas que protegen la consola de ligeros impactos, la batería del Case tarde un poco en cargarse y curiosamente no es entrada tipo c, por lo cual requieres un cargador diferente, no obstante puede alimentar la consola casi o al 100% (solo 1 carga), cabe aclarar que no se puede cerrar el estuche mientras se carga la consola, quizás por cuestiones de calentamiento, por lo que para poder cargan la consola es necesario que el estuche de encuentre complemente abierto, pero con el soporte interno que cuenta puedes recargar la consola y jugar a la vez, si bien. Apesar de que sólo tiene 6 ranuras de cartucho de juego, están son dobles, por lo que puede almacenar 2 en una sola, pudiendo cargar hasta 12 cartuchos, de igual manera cuenta con 2 ranuras extra algo escondidas para almacenar SD, (1 por cada espacio). En fin, es un excelente producto, es de buenos materiales, así como un gran funcionamiento, y el precio del estuche es realmente comodo. No se compara a otros cases que por tener un logo el precio es superior a este y ofrecen menos funciones. Cosas que necesitan tú switch, si porque si.
