This notoginseng powder is of good quality and fresh. It is a super fine powder suitable for mixing in liquid for consumption. I put 1 leveled teaspoon of it in a cup of boiling water and steep for 4-5 minutes. It has a slightly sweet and mildly bitter flavor. I simply add honey to taste. You can also blend it in your favorite tea. It is well-known in traditional Chinese medicine for nourishing blood, improving circulation, cardiovascular and liver health, and immune system support.This comes in a resealable retail plastic bag. Mine is good until 09/25, a little over 2 years from now. The ingredients are panax notoginseng root. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this. It is easy to use and has great health benefits. I drink it as a herbal tea with honey, and it is pretty decent tasting. The price seems pretty reasonable for a 4 oz. bag. Worth giving it a try for the quality and health benefits. Good product.

Noto-Ginseng is known as San Qi, and is used in a variety of herbal formulas. It should not be confused with Panax Ginseng which is an entirely different herb. I make a tincture that I use for injuries, bruises, sprains, etc., that is called “Dit Da Jow”. San Qi is an important ingredient in that formula. It often comes as rock hard dried roots that are very difficult to break up, so I was very excited to see this in powdered form. Unfortunately the package is only 4 ounces, not 12 ounces, which others have also noted. This herb can be very expensive so I’m still okay with the cost, but they should fix the listing to reflect the correct size.

I did add some honey but, I think that first sip did me in with making the rest of this have a very long after taste of bitterness so, I will be trying this again with some minor adjustments if I make tea again. I will mix this with other supplements in smoothies as an easy solution to work around that concern.
