Simple and reliable loud bell
Inexpensive, small, unobtrusive, capable of working off either DC (batteries) or AC (transformer), and above all LOUD, there's little reason to look further than this unpretentious little item for a straightforward reliable doorbell. It is of course 'wired', not linked to the bell push by any kind of 21st century magic, and you will need both a bell push and a power source to make it work. In my case those ancillary items were already in place and it was just a matter of changing the bell itself, which had died of old age. I have no hesitation in recommending this item.

REPLACEMENT FRIEDLAND 'UNDERDOME' DOOR BELL
This was purchased as a simple LIKE-for-LIKE replacement for a Friedand UNDERDOME door bell which had given up after 45 years (plus) service. It is simple and simple to wire in as a replacement: no sophisticated electrical skill is/was necessary. However, it is simple and does not offer any variations on the ring - apart from a loudness variation. NO COMPLAINTS. . . but if you want a more spohisticated bell sound and/or a chime then try something else.

Very LOUD
Can hear this in the garden but if you are close it will make you jump .

It's OK But ...
It's OK but the ringing tone can sound a bit flat. Had a previous model from about 25 years ago (surprisingly, it looks exactly the same) and this was more solidly constructed and gave a clearer, louder ring.

Just what we wanted.
We needed a simple bell to replace an old two tone doorbell that had lost one tone. It "Bonged" but didn't "Bing" despite careful cleaning and lubricating as per the instructions inside. I did have to craft a piece of wood to mount the bell on simply to cover the hole in several layers of old wallpaper where the old chime box had been papered around! Otherwise it was a very simple job to fit and connect the existing wires from both front and back door bell push wires. It works perfectly from the existing 12v AC transformer hard wired into the circuit. Open the attached video and turn up the volume to hear what it sounds like from outside our back door.

Back door bell
Arrived on time, but you need to have the hearing of a 10 year old to hear it in any other room other than the room the bell is mounted in.
