Amazon wants me to review the smell of anchovy extract, but that's probably not the best way to sell this product. This stuff is an acquired taste, but once you acquire it you realize you can't do without. It can make even the simplest of dishes burst with flavor. Seriously, get this. If you don't like it keep using small amounts and by the end of bottle 1 you'll be hooked. This stuff makes even plain rice a treat.

Old, interesting condiment. Used to make a wonderful additional umami flavor to a tomato-based pasta sauce.

Attractive addition to my kitchen and really tasty as well it is expensive considering alternatives that are more accessible and much cheaper. But honestly I bought this more for the country of origin and as a foray into cooking and a more authentic Roman style. All said I'm glad I got it I love to pull it out and share it with guests.
