Accurate and easy to use, but ...
Good news first: I took the calipers to our machine shop and checked them against the reference blocks. They agree to the last decimal place (2.540 cm, no half-digit) with our 1.000 inch block. The controls are straightforward, the lock screw is easy to identify and use, they can be zeroed anywhere (for comparison), and (important to these old eyes) they are much easier to read than a Vernier scale. But ...The calipers arrived with a dead battery. OK, so they came with a spare CR2032 lithium cell. Except that although the instructions say to remove the battery cover, they don't specify how to do so and from long and painful experience I am reluctant to start dismantling instruments. After careful examination I concluded that there was one screw that couldn't have any other function than restraining the battery cover (lower left screw in the rear view photo) and indeed the cover came off and I replaced the battery.Except -- (old engineering habits) how did a device arrive dead? The first answer seems to be that the on/off button turns the calipers on and off, but they don't time out and turn off on their own. The second answer is that they came with the lock screw loose and ... aha! the slightest movement of the two parts relative to each other also turn it on (does it burn power watching the sensors? Time will tell.) To deal with the problem, I modified the case as shown in the second picture by putting a pair of felt furniture pads where they push down on the battery cover (left pad) and on the shaft (right pad.)I guess I'll find out later if the sensor is still drawing power.Bottom line: the instrument would get five stars but the case, instructions, and perhaps handling cost it one.

Great tool and a must have for anyone making pretty much anything
It comes with a case, an extra battery, and is made from steel. It doesn't feel as smooth as some of the nicer calipers I use but I guess that's the few hundred dollar difference. It also has a nice weight to it.

Disappointed, Did Not Get What I Expected From The Description
Digital vernier caliper can measure dimensions in inches and with a push of the button, displays the dimension in millimeters. Unfortunately, the caliper I received does not display fractions as advertised. The dimension conversion button on the caliper is only marked "mm/inch". The descriptive picture shows "F" for fractions. Comes with a small screwdriver so that you can remove the very small screw on the back of the caliper that holds the battery compartment cover. Comes with a spare battery which came in handy because the installed battery was dead.
