We installed the part on our mower, started mowing the yard and made a couple passes and this piece broke.

This is a front deck suspension rod for several Craftsman, Husqvarna and Poulan lawn tractor models. It is exactly like one I have replaced before on my Husqvarna, after it came loose and broke off once it jabbed into the dirt. It seems to be very similar in quality, though I have no way to test the actual material of the old or new part.

My son was mowing our lawn, Mario Andretti style, and hit a sunken spot in the lawn hard enough that it broke the front link holding up the mowing deck. Upon inspection it broke on the end where the nut goes, and there is a hole in the link for a cotter pin.I called around to see if anyone local had it and of course they all said they would need to order and it would be there by the end of the week. I searched up on Amazon and found this on prime, arrived and installed in a few days and we are back in business.I had a good chat with my Mario impersonator and thought we were seeing eye-to-eye on slowing down to not damage the equipment. I guess a good song came over his earbuds and I rushed out, channeling my inner officer Barney Fife out there blowing my whistle to get the kid to slow down.I guess the good news is that if he breaks another one, we know how to change out the part pretty quick!

Rod threads are undersized compared to adjustment and lock nut. Will do the job but consider this when tightening the jam nut.
