On point
Finely detailed look at all the available sources to make the case that Jesus was truly a fictional character.Jesus being pure fiction was already my belief and this historical work confirmed it.

The Milk Carton On The Cover Is A Fitting Metaphor
"Jesus:Mything In Action" tackles the subject of the existence of a "Historical Jesus" and covers the subject with a depth of knowledge and breadth of research that is astounding. When I say "In Depth" I mean it. In making his case "Nailed" (Fitzgerald's first book on the subject) can be considered the Brief, "Mything" is the complete case with evidence. And it's overwhelming.Fitzgerald writes in a way that is entertaining, interesting and informative without being scholarly and dry. Without a doubt it's the most complete and understandable book on the Bible I've read.If you want an overview and are not willing to go further, read "Nailed". If you have read "Nailed" and want to go further and deeper into a very interesting subject (and I believe you will), "Mything" is a fascinating and rewarding read.

Questioning, Convincing and Compelling.
a well researched and well presented study which questions every aspect of the writings regarded as 'gospels'. without being offensive or aggressive Fitzgerald presents a detailed and clear analysis of his subject. Clear reference is given to the believers as well as to the questioners. Each side receives similar fair consideration. Fitzgerald finds strongly on the side of manipulated myth. I found his work convincing and compelling. Do not speed-read or skim this work if you open it. It is not a light read; it is packed with thoughts and ideas worthy of a slow read and fair consideration from the reader. Well done Mr Fitzgerald.

Excellent follow-up to vol. I!
As was the case with the first volume, I found it hard to put it down! I finished the book in record time! Having read many other books on the topic, such as Carrier's "On the Historicity of Jesus", I found much of the same material, but also some new. The context of each supposed mention of Jesus in text, helped a lot. Once again, I found the writing to be very enjoyable and informative. The whole series would be a very good initial read on the subject. A follow-up with Carrier's book would complete a layman's understanding of the subject, I think.

Five stars!
Fascinating in scope and precision. If you like to debate the historicity of Jesus, add this book to your arsenal

Great book
Amazing detailed information is provided throughout the book! I would recommend it to anyone interested in the history of Christ.

The legend grows.
I reside in an area with more churches than gas stations, with more denominations than retail outlets. I can only imagine the furor this book would bring if widely circulated. Also, the lack of a historic Jesus would knock the pins out from under the Muslims for whom he is a profit, and he who will be the first warrior for their religion at the end of times.

Well Done
Fitzgerald is very good. He has mostly convinced me that Jesus never existed; he presents very persuasive evidence. One thing is for sure-if Jesus was a flesh and blood human he was obscure. No one but a handful of believers ever believed in him while he was alive. After his death his followers performed a miracle of deception. Great story.

Fits nailed it I
This is going to sound the same for the two books in Mything in action. I And II. wonderful simple to read and understand. (Most biblical tomes are hard going, David made it a joy to understand and follow.) with all the reference material stated it’s going to take me some time to catch up! The mark of a good book is the quality of the back up material.

Jesus never existed.
After reading these 2 series (vol II continues the sequence of chapters from vol I), you have one of the best conclusions you can ever have about the ahistorical life of Jesus: Christianity began with a celestial jesus myth from re-readings of the Old Testament and popular religious cults of the time (reflected in Hebews and some of the Paul’s letters) and much later made up as a historical tale (with the works of Marks ans the other gospels).

A brilliant mystery novel
An engaging and extremely readable whodunit, except it’s about Jesus and the earliest Christians. Nice to take a closer look at facts taken for granted for so long.
