Singer Presser Foot, Original Version

I've been meaning to get one of these for so long but as they're a little pricey I kept putting it off. In the last few years I've been working a lot more with faux leathers and tried all sorts of ways to make it work with my machine but it's always been a struggle, I finally got this as I have a commission coming up that will be entirely out of faux leather, rather than the odd strap, and I'm so glad because I use it all the time! I have a Singer 2808 sewing machine, it's old and not advanced but surprisingly sturdy, getting this walking foot has saved me having to buy a whole new machine as it can now do so much more! It's easy to attach, easy to use, and is exactly as it is pictured in the listing. I would 100% recommend to anyone who is planning on working with awkward materials (eg. Leather, faux leathers, velvets, anything that sticks or moves as you work with it) or if you're sewing multiple layers at once. In the past I've used one of these whilst making a jacket from silk velvet and a walking foot really saved it!

Following a video online, this was very easy to install and worked a treat. Good pricing for a walking foot too so i am very pleased with my purchase. I have used it to do external lines on a quilt, to quilt in the ditch, and to sew together harder to align tartan pieces. It worked well in all cases, and certainly better than just the general foot would have managed.

I have now had this foot for 5 months, it has proved invaluable. It has been used for quilting, home interiors and repairs for heavy overalls etc. It has given me new confidence in being able to attempt projects and fabrics I had been wary of. I am now being asked to make items for others, a testament to the solid output using this foot. I will always have one of these in the kit bag for a machine going forward. It seemed expensive when I purchased, but it has paid for itself several times over on repairs to jeans!

I looked at cheaper versions online however decided to get this as I had been gifted a voucher by a friend and there were mixed reviews on others. I am glad I did, this is well made and makes sewing anything with layers much easier. Can't wait to try it with stretch fabrics.

This walking foot is an asset when trying to quilt several layers together. There was a lot less puckering with this foot. There were no instructions, so some thought was needed to fit the walking foot to my Singer sewing machine.

Plenty of copies of this item available, some with poor reviews. Chose this Singer original and it does what it should. Well designed and looks to be well made.

I ordered this to fit my Janome 2212 sewing machine to make a quilt. I was worried that it wouldn't be compatible because the seller information didn't list specific sewing machine models, so I was really happy that it was easy to install and use. Janome brand walking foot attachments are $100 (at least online) and since my local sewing stores are all closed right now because of the pandemic, I had to order one online. All you need to install this on your machine is a flat head screwdriver -- super simple. Works quite well, although on thicker areas (border corners for example), the fabric sometimes got stuck in the feed dogs. Works really well for quilting with cotton batting.
