Power to the product!
The Silver Stone SST-ST4SSF v 3.- SFX Series....., was the choice as the power supply for the building of a completely new computer system. It sat alongside a number of other Silver Stone products chosen for the purpose. There have been no regrets at the choice of brand and this power supply is no exception. The power supply is highly efficient, easily fitted (into the Silver Stone computer cube box), noise free and good value for money. It is a most appropriate power supply for the product.

good value, but can be a bit loud since it is a SFX PSU

SilverStone SST-ST45SF v 3.0
This is an old design and extensively reviewed online so there shouldn't be any surprises; when benchmarked it only just about manages the 80 Plus Bronze efficiency standard but is otherwise pretty solid, except the fan gets quite loud at higher powers. If you have a small form factor build and do not need huge power output this is an inexpensive option - much less than a 650W (or greater) SFX supply while still being reasonably efficient. If for any reason you need a fully wired design (I did, as I had no room for modular connectors) then this is almost your only option. So, as with most things do your research - you'll know if this PSU is right for your application - if it is, then it is a solid little supply.

Too noisy and bad costumer service
First lets say, Do not buy from this seller Packetwalk Systems Ltd. I have emails that prove they are a bunch of liars, they sold me a faulty product and when I contacted to get it repaired they just told me no problem sent it back, spend £6 from my own pocket. They refund me (not the postage) saying that they couldn't repair it, silverstone couldn't do it and at last the product is not with us (i contacted silverstone and was told to rma it to the seller). Price went up, so had to spend an extra £65 to buy the same product again + £6.00 for the postage.Silverstone is not to blame but I don't know. Now the psu, it works, is good quality and being modular makes it easy to work with butttttt sounds like a hair dryer. It is noisier than the fans. Some people has been complaining about the same on the forums. Yes you can change the fan but that will void your warranty and if this one was from a bad batch i don't know.

Easy install and as 'silent' as you would reasonably need
Office pc had a very noisy psu fan so thought I'd give this a shot looking for as close to silence as possible on a budget.Straight forward fitting, came with a plate which my case needed as the old psu was larger (as well as whooshing like a hoover). Switched on and I have to admit that I initially thought it wasn't powering as there was no sound at all but pc booted and works perfectly. The thing is genuinely silent - at least within reasonable parameters. Highly recommended for modestly spec'd pc's.

good but......
a good power supply perfect for the SFX form factor but take care if you ask more than 400 watts it make some coil whine sound really bad to hear

Excellent
Not sure what other reviewers have done to this PSU but I have found it to be nice and quiet with plenty of juice to run an i5 and Nvidia 1660 super which is powering my VR setup from a mini case. Noise is my enemy with a PC build and using a smaller case is always a problem but not with this one. Sure it ramps up a bit when full on gaming but I'm in the zone at that point and don't care. If you need a 450W SFX supply, go ahead and get it.

Silent PSU for ITX NAS
This is a great power supply for my new NAS/Media Centre. I have yet to hear the fan come on at all, the hard drives are the only thing I hear. It comes with a ATX adaptor, but this does not allow the PSU sit on the floor of my particular case, I bought the SilverStone SST-PP08 SFX to ATX PSU Converter - Black to solve this and you get a better clearing between the PSU and HDDs mounted above.System is:Fractal Node 304Asrock J4205-ITXSyba 4xSATA Expansion Card2x SSD (OS & Cache)6x 4TB HDD (Stablebit Drivepool)18w idle, 40w (drops as the unneeded drives turn off)
