My daughters love Bakugan, however this is the first jumbo one they have. I'll be honest, I don't understand it. I opened this up and sat for 10 minutes trying to figure out how to open the flipping ball! My kids found this hilarious of course. Okay, so for any other confused parents out there - the included card will activate the Bakugan lol. So, we received Nillious, a 2 headed dragon creature transforming ball thing. My eldest daughter is particularly pleased about this - I guess she likes this character...or maybe just 2 headed dragons. The Combine and Brawl series allow the base of each Bakugan to be swapped with others in the series which allows a small amount of customisation. Is that a good idea? I couldn't say. My daughters like the idea of this though. The Bakugan itself is quite sturdy and springs open nicely when triggered. The paint job could be better. If I were a collector, I might feel miffed with the overall finish. My kids like it though and I imagine after a few weeks if being rolled around, the paint job won't be perfect afterwards anyway. Overall, it's a good sturdy toy and a bit of a novelty to own a jumbo sized version.

Whether your a bakugan collector or not. This is a great toy, lots of features, well made, good quality and value for money!

Bigger than I expected

Bakugan is a great toy line overall, with enough novelty and physicality that it keeps our interest even when everything else is on smartphones. There's a very tactile element to these toys and collectability that means that they age well, a bit like Transformers in my own youth. This jumbo size Bakugan, however, is not my favourite of their toy sets. The smaller Bakugan or easy to collect, don't take up much space, intricately detailed and clever in their designs. This jumbo size feels like the same small model, amplified. It doesn't feel more detailed, or better painted, or better designed for its large size. It feels like a small model made bigger. As such, I'd recommend the smaller models over this jumbo one.
