6" Inch Square Floor Drain, Black Stainless Steel High Flow Drain with Removable Grid Cover

I used to be a licensed tile contractor and have tiled hundreds of showers. I thought I would try this drain instead of a locally purchased one for a bathroom remodel. It installed easily and looks pretty nice. The hair trap inside the drain is a good idea but gets clogged super quickly because it is so small and is a pain to clean out. I’ll be removing the inner trap altogether. I would purchase again and recommend this drain.

Do not use the product installation video as any sort of reference, go to you tube and search "tile shower drain installation".You've got your 6" drain and cover (nickel or black) The drain flange itself A threaded bushing for drain height adjustment A rubber sealing bushing A hooked tool for pulling up the drain cover A small round hair catcher disk This is a standard floor drain for a fabricated fiberglass pan or a custom shower pan. (If you're unclear about what either of those are, you're probably buying the wrong type of shower drain) Some are round, some are square but they all go in pretty much the same way. This one has a hair catcher which one reviewer says causes slow drainage. So its obviously doing it's job. I guess no one told her that they give you a little hooked tool to raise the grate and clean off the hair catcher. Or you can buy a separate square hair catcher that fits right over this, which makes it easier to clean. If you don;t need the hair catcher....don;t install it. I got the brushed nickel finish to match my bath fixture, it looks nice, installation was easy and I hope the finish holds up over time. That's usually the difference between a $12 drain and a $55 drain, it looks prettier and the finish will hold up longer over time.At $27, this is about 40-50% cheaper than you'll find at your local hardware store.
