These are very high quality warm raw wool socks,not scratchy IF YOU DON’T USE DETERGENT,hand wash only.turn inside out when washing rinsing many times,then again right side out carefully,after initial over night soak.we layer these socks according to the temperature.they are thick so if layering in winter you will need to keep larger shoes or boots on hand accordingly.they will last years with good prudent care.keep in a tightly lidded storage to prevent moths when not in use.moths LOVE raw wool.you will not find warmer socks anywhere,period.we should know after years of failure upon failure,most out there are fake wool,known as “new” wool or “merino” wool,if it is machine washable it is not real raw wool,beware.noman made product equals raw wool,no matter what the wording says.

wish I had bought these socks years ago, work outdoors and in un heated buildings, keep my feet comfortably warm. I plan on getting another pair before next winter

I got these to be used more as slippers… they’re perfect. I ordered my shoe size (12). They seem to run a bit big but they’re comfy thick soft and warm.

Foot part of the sock is ample, but overall difficult to pull on. as the top is too narrow. I tried to reach somebody (Amazon, Dachstein rep.) to find out how to stretch it but could not get anyone directly regarding this issue. All automatic pre-selected options, esp. Amazon.I love the socks otherwise, so I will just have to struggle to get them on and off.

I ordered a size 7 (I am female) and it was too small. The package said it was Euro size 36 which is about a 5 to 5 ½ US sizing. I couldn't even get the sock over toes! Boiled wool is extremely warm but doesn't have any flex so there was absolutely no give to stretch this sock on. The seller needs to correct the sizing otherwise I cannot re-order. How can I trust the sizing?

This is a five [5 *****] star review. Why did I click 4 stars? Because I never read the five star review to decide if a product has value. I start with the four stars and go to the three stars. I also never read the one star reviews as I find them a bit to grumpy. So I'm hoping that you read this review as very, very positive.First:These socks are too thick to put them and my foot into a shoe, but then I didn't buy them for walking around. I bought them because I wanted warm feet for watching TV and sleeping. As I get older my feet seem to get colder and for the past few winters my feet have been cold. These sock were the answer to getting my feet warm again. THEY ARE WONDERFUL! They are expensive but craft is time consuming and should be rewarded when well done. These are well done. They are well worth it simply for their physical comfort. They also happen to be beautiful in a crafty sort of way.For me, "these socks aren't made for walking", but they are made for keeping feet warm on cool evenings. I'll buy another pair as soon as I save some money as I want to make sure I alway have a pair to wear.

I had been buying ultra thick alpaca socks hand knitted, but could no longer find ones that weren't mixed with tercel or cotton and thus not as warm. I got these yesterday and slipped them on and kept them on through the night - perfect warmth and my feet didn't get too hot. I wear a size 9 1/2 shoe and ordered the 10 but it is way too big but I'm keeping them anyway. I will order a few more at the next smaller size - these are perfect for sleeping in.

These socks are pretty darn warm. I wear them when I am hunting in winter in Wisconsin. My feet always get cold when I sit in 20 degrees F or lower for more then 3 hours. These socks did keep my feet relatively warm as compared to what i normally experience. They are very thick - like wool boot liners - so make sure that you have boots that are about one size bigger then what you would normally wear because you won't get your normal boots on with these socks. Also - these socks are pretty difficult to get on and off. They are very pricey but I find them worth it when I am on a 6 or 8 hour sit hunting whitetail in 15 degree F temps!
