It doesn't close in the back, does it? Just a more plush version of the snuggie? Not really a robe?

it does not close in back but it wraps over your shoulders very nicely. It is NOT a robe. If you put it on in a chair you don't need it to close.

Is this made of real mink?

No. I bought four (4) of these and they are definitely not mink though they are soft enough to feel like it. As the ad says it's " 100% super micro plush polyester". They are well worth the price. My granddaughter uses the one I have at my home as a blanket every night.

I’m 5’7, will this cover my feet when sitting on the couch with my feet up?

I think it would. It’s 73 inches long. My daughter is 5’ 4” and she can tuck it under her feet while sitting in our recliner. It’s so soft & cuddly!

Is this machine washable and can you machine dry?

you can wash it in the machine on cold wash only you are not supposed to put it in the dryer. I air dried it and it is still soft
