A friend, a retired electrician, came over to help us plan adding some new outlets in my husbands office for some equipment. He used a really expensive clamp meter he said cost him $250. He did say that was a while ago and you could get a less accurate one much cheaper, maybe $35. My husband could use one but neither wanted to pay even $30-40. We found this model. Seemed as complicated looking as the expensive one so bought it. It simple works. Did the job wonderfully and husband is very very pleased. For $15 unless you are a professional electrician or you need extreme accuracy, then this little guy is well worth $15. Was concerned the quality would be poor but very happy with it as it is all the "average" homeowner would need if they actually know what a clamp meter is and needs one. I didn't but its kind of neat to use.

I threw away the caps and what not because they fall out the carrying case. I am very satisfied with the operation of this device, and it looks nice, feels nicely made.

I have several multi meters around the house. This one has all the functions in a compact package and I can switch functions one handed.

Doesn't measures DC amps which is why I bought it but I guess I should've asked firat. Other then that it's a good DMM
