Deeply In You (The Wicked Dukes Book 1)

Loved this authors early work. I urge you to read Silk, etc, to read how good she can be. I have stuck with her through the paranormal stories and was delighted she was writing another Regency series. I was confident that I would enjoy it as much as her previous books and that it would be a mixture of a good Regency romp and hot, hot sex. This book was such a disappointment, the heroine is a two dimensional figure and the hero is another deeply flawed character, who uses sex to blot out an unhappy past - doh!! The scenes in the brothel/ private club are pretty run of the mill and are sort of popped into the book at regular intervals. Such a shame as by the time I had got halfway into the book I neither cared or wanted to know what happened to them next.As I said above, this authors previous work is very good and I urge you to read it but this is the first time in over 40 years of reading all types of Regency romances from Georgette Heyer to Samantha Kane and everything in between that I have felt like tossing the book away unfinished. In fact, I just logged onto Amazon and wrote this review. Says it all really.If you love a bad boy, who ruins his life due to abuse in his past and is ultimately saved by a great heroine then read Kate Pearce's - Simply Voracious. Now that's sizzling and leaves you wanting more.
