Item is great, unfortunately it was Amazon that had the issues.
Ok, this has to be a double review. First, I picked up a 240v long ranger III at a great price. What I didn't realize at the time was that it was an "Amazon warehouse deal ". I opened the box, and it was missing the mounting plate. Ok, that's not fatal. What was fatal is that only one hot lead in the switch was working, (I figured this out by using a voltage meter) and thus, even though there was current, the unit wouldn't fire my 240v dust collector. I had to return the unit. Caveat Emptor on the Amazon Warehouse Deal. I brought the item to my nearest Amazon delivery Drop box (free) and it took almost 4 weeks to get my refund (?!!?!!). Not a process that I'd recommend to anyone. However, at that point I had decided based on other reviews and the simple convenience factor that I wanted to give this item another go, I ordered the item directly from Penn Stare (PSI Woodworking) instead-- and it was even cheaper than the Warehouse deal price. it arrived quickly and works like a charm. High utility points for being able to turn on & off the D.C. from standing by any tool in my 600 sf shop and not have to leave it running all the time. Remote has no issues with RF or range-- will still operate around the 90 degree corner in my shop.I love Amazon, and have never previously had an issue with any item or delivery. However, in this case, my issues were with them.5 stars for the item; a mere 2 stars for Amazon in this singular instance.

Very Useful and Reliable Remote
I have actually owned this product for 4 years now. It controls a HarborFreight "2HP" dust collector and gets lots of action. I had a shop fox unit for my smaller 1HP dust collector which was fine, but had issues with remotes and it tended to have trouble with regular walls. The Long Ranger has none of those problems! The remote is replaceable and the unit can be programmed to the new remote easily. The remote signal in my case just has to pass through a plater wall and about 20 feet away, but I have never had to punch the button or hold the remote up and shake it like I did the shop fox.The remote and the outlet box seem to be very solid and well made. Mine was made in Taiwan which I would prefer to China. The new ones might be from China now...I really don't know.I just recently had a problem which I thought spelled the end for my Long Ranger unit after four years. It would not respond even though the light was blinking on the remote. I started trying to figure out what I would have to do, looked at new remotes, etc. The my wife asked if I had changed the battery....I HATE when she does that! So, yes, the light on the remote was blinking, but after changing the battery, it came on full bright and my dust collector fired up!Five Stars! Nuf said.

Works Awesome!!
I have an air compressor in my freestanding workshop, and have air lines to my garage which is 30 feet away.I wanted a remote so I could turn the air compressor on from the garage without having to walk around the buildings, unlock the workshop, hit the on switch and then walk back around every time I needed a little air...Took it out of the box, plugged it into an outlet & the compressor into it, put the included battery in the remote and hit its "on" button.Instantly the compressor started. Now for the distance test. Will it work though the 2 walls (one cinder block and the other stud & stucco, about 45 feet)?? No problem! Works reliably every time. The main box has a power cord, a single outlet, a resettable circuit breaker, and a tiny recessed button to pair additional remotes (there is a large label affixed that has great instructions on remote pairing). Measures approx. 5 1/2 x 2 3/4" x 3 1/4"The remote has 2 buttons, one on & one off, plus a red LED light. The LED lights up when either button is pushed, so you know the remote's battery is good. (also has label affixed that has great instructions on remote pairing). Measures approx. 5 1/2" x 1 3/8" x 7/8".Great investment. Highly Recommended
