It’s a kind of padded bandage. No settings/ nothing involving a battery.

Yes very straightforward. Sterchy but robust material. Use tge size guide to get the right size for you. I've found them really helpful.

Q: How thick is the gel pad?

Hi. The actual gel pad minus the material, measuring with calipers comes out about 2.3mm. Mine kept slipping when walking, I removed the gel, then used surgical tape to keep it in place. I cant find my other one to measure with the gel pad in situ, otherwise I would have measured that also. Dont use it anymore as I am no longer in pain. Hope this helps.
