Requiring users to modify their tools in such a manner is impractical and could potentially void warranties, placing users in an undesirable situation. I second the reviewer who found this too complicated to use. It is easiest to install on a router lift that is separate from the router itself. I use a Router Raizer, which uses the router's plunge mechanism itself to raise & lower the bit. I found that the body of the iGaging device needs to be attached to the elevating mechanism directly below where the top arm attaches underneath the router table. That is straightforward on a lift, but the smaller diameter router would require shimming to make the iGaging body attach directly below the top of the arm. I spent a lot of time figuring this out, and ultimately decided not to try doing so. This would still deserve 4 stars.Unfortunately, even though the holiday return period extends through January 31, the seller refused my request of January 30 to return it, unused & in new condition. That's why 1 star only. I've appealed via Amazon.
