The key works great, but no instructions
The biggest thing is the lack of instructions. I personally don’t need them, but I’d bet a lot of people would. I have a programmer that lets me program pats but you don’t need that if you already have 2 keys. Once I cut the key, I had doubts if the security chip would be compatible with my car but it just worked. I have a 2008 Lincoln town car but I was able to get the lock, unlock, alarm and trunk button to work. Car starts and key fits in the ignition great. So much more convenient than the old keys with the separate fobs

No instructions included at all
This is a nice quality key fob, but it comes with absolutely no instructions on programming it. I was able to find a Youtube video to program it, but it was harder to find a key shop willing to cut the key. All in all, this was a huge hassle. It's easier to just buy it from someone authorized to cut and program it.

No Instructions Included
The key was supposed to come with instructions, or as stated in the description, at least a link to instructions. It did not come with either. The only thing that arrived was a key. You must first get the key cut. Most businesses in my area have policies against cutting these keys unless you purchase the key from them. I was able to convince a small hardware store to cut the key for us even though they had a sign posted that stated "no keys cut unless purchased from this store."My son was able to find a video to program the locks. The lock and unlock buttons now work. But unfortunately, after many attempts, we were not able to get the key to work to start the car. This is ridiculous. The seller should at least include a video or link to how to make the key useable. Not happy and would not recommend.

A Few Tips
I read the other reviews. They are spot on. The key comes without instructions but a quick search on YouTube will bring up several videos on how to program the FOB yourself. The process is easy. The hard part is getting the key cut first. Try your local locksmith or hardware store. The big chains aren't too helpful. The FOB works fine once programmed.

Locks programmed, key won't start car, however.
The lock/unlock portion of the key programmed easily and the key was cut to work perfectly with the locks, but it would not program so it could start the car. I did have the two keys required to program starting, but it failed. The anti-theft chips are pretty proprietary, so I was not shocked when I could not get it to program after 3 tries. This is a common problem with these things. Some reviewers were frustrated by the lack of instructions, but the instructions in the car's manual should work whenever programming these things. One item to watch for is that when you program one, you have to program ALL of them at the same time.

Programmed for our 2012 mustang
We have a 2012 mustang with only one key. I bought this, programmed it and then brought both to the local hardware store. I gave the old guy $10 to cut the key and I'm done. So much better than getting something from the dealer.

Got it to work
I gave it 4 stars because there weren’t any instructions and I had to do some searching to find the right videos. This is how it went. I started with getting the key cut. This may be difficult if you don’t have a small hardware store. I went to Home Depot first and they couldn’t do it. Then Lowes and the associates said they have a policy against doing chip keys. Then I went to Runnings and the guy did me a favor. They don’t have a way to charge for cutting a key. They normally sell you a key blank and then cut it for you. Since I had my own key he had no way to charge me. I was having other keys cut so they at least got paid for those. Then after the key was cut I followed a video that showed me how to program the chip. Easy process. The key worked to start the 2011 Ford Escape but the door remote didn’t work. I found another video on programming the key fob part. Easy process and now the whole thing worked. Starts the car and unlocks the doors. My advice is make sure you can get the key cut before you buy the blank.
