Huummm....
I ordered the 20-30 carat and what I received looks like a glass chip... thin, unimpressive and accompanied by a cheap, black, plastic frame and stand that contains a cling wrap style plastic intended to display the specimen inside of it (sandwiched between two layers of plastic wrap) ! Needless to say... the plastic frame & stand went straight into my recycle bin. So, I paid 25 dollars for a little glass chip made from a meteorite strike in the desert sand. Worth it ? Not really.... although I may try one more time in a larger carat size ?? It makes a lot more sense for sellers to provide a good quality frame... such as a black WOODEN frame with a clear acrylic center designed with different size cup indentions (matching of course) on either side of the acrylic... to encase the various sizes of meteorites for sale. THEN.... I would say, YES... that type of accompaniment would be worth the purchase. As it is.... NO WAY ! Plastic... IS... UNDENIABLY one of the top pollutants on planet Earth! This purchase is good for the seller's income... not so good for customers or the environment. I think the sellers of these Libyan Desert Glass specimens (from Meteorite strikes) should ditch the plastic crap altogether and offer customers two options. One with the display stand and one without the display stand... allowing people to choose. The display stands for sale should be quality... made from wood or metal with either 100% acrylic (lowest in toxicity) or glass to display the Tektites. Alternatively... the frame could be composed of 100% recycled plastic or metal. Another option could be.... an open frame that leaves the Tektite exposed and serves as more of a supportive stand rather than... a completely enclosed cheap PLASTIC nightmare! Additionally, being enclosed inside of plastic... certainly negates any type of alleged healing properties the meteorites may impart. Food for thought.... and hopefully better decisions in the near future.
