Very cute but a bit stiff for little hands
I find it a cute umbrella for a little girl and I like that the dome shape will give her better protection from the is rain. However, I find it a bit stiff for little hands. Opening it, it feels stiff and you have to struggle a bit to do so, same thing for closing it. And the little plastic snap to close it will also be difficult for little hands. Before I give it to my niece, I will need to 'practice' with it a bit so I can show her how easy it can be. If not and she has difficulty with it, she might just decide it's not worth it and not use it.

Well-made and lightweight but a little pricey
This is sturdy and well-made and lightweight enough for my toddler to carry. The extended canopy is great - very full coverage - and we love the clear design for visibility. All in all a great kids' umbrella, though a tad on the pricey side.

An excellent first umbrella!
Our six year old had an opportunity to try this out shortly after it arrived, and to our surprise we saw that some of his classmates had the exact same umbrella. Great minds think alike, right? This is an excellent umbrella for youngsters, with thoughtful features through. The addition of round plastic knobs covering up any potentially pointy bits was a clever addition to prevent accidental injuries from carelessness of horseplay. It’s also quite sturdy when deployed, so it’s unlike to fold inside out like some umbrellas do in heavy winds. Because it’s made of thick plastic rather than fabric, it holds up fine under the heaviest downpours (including standing directly under one of our gutter spouts…), though as a result it is loud under the dome of the umbrella. The only feature our little one struggles with is the top spring and runner used to open/close the umbrella. It takes a tiny bit of muscle and manual dexterity to open the umbrella, and he’s a bit nervous about it springing closed suddenly when he tried to close it himself. That said, this top spring and runner system isn’t a deal-breaker by any means. This is a perfectly functional umbrella for youngsters… though it’s proven big enough for the adults in our household on a couple of occasions, too!

Daughter loves it
I got this for my four year old, I love the dome shape so she is less likely to know stuff over or poke out eyes. The snap together strap to hold it closed works well. To open the white piece slides up until it goes over a spring piece that pops out and hold it in place. To release you have to push up and push the piece back in, my four year old has some trouble with this but is getting the hang of it. It is very cute and does a good job keeping my child entertained and dry, well her head is dry.
