5 stars because this really works. At first I put the trap relatively close to the sitting area on our deck....by the third day, I moved it to the other side of the deck because it does give way to a faint, but distinctive odor of, well death and fly despair. Once moved away, the odor was definitely not as noticeable. Mine lasted about three weeks before it was 3/4 full. As for emptying it and reusing the trap, I can safely say, there is no way I would empty the contents into anything....totally gross. Think heat, dead flies and what happens to them once they further evolve while captured....yes, the "m" word. So, I disposed of it in a plastic garbage bag, the entire trap with the contents and will purchase a whole new trap. So far, the flies have not reappeared in mass. Bottom line, yes, this trap works to kill flies.

The product works great but the tip broke before I even used it making it unable to hange from the chain.

We always get flies in the house in the summer and I suspected they were coming in through the kitchen door, so I put one of these on the back porch. Good grief! The slaughter! I have no idea why they like the porch; there is no food or anything interesting there, but in the first week this thing has caught hundreds of them! Amazing.

I knew there were quite a few flies near my trashcans, but I had no idea that so many were caught! I bought 2 more! My first full container I placed in a large zip lock bag and added it to my trash bag. I have noticed less flies near my pack porch and outside grill. GREAT PRODUCT!

I had flies in them within the hour, bu the refills are not the same brand and does not work as well

I bought it cos it was cute compared to the rescue one but the stupid lid broke where the chain hooks on. I just have it sitting on a table for now, but every time I come outside, it’s tipped over. and the holes where the flies go in are so big that I watched the flies come right out.

I bought two of these and the first couple days they worked great. After that, it was if they dried up and there was no smell. So disappointed!!

Overall good product, but did not come with chain and hook! Came with a twist tie!
