I have used all sorts of drives in the past and the big problem is that the cooling fans in them make so much noise when you are trying to do sound mixes on an edit. I therefore search around and found the G-Technology G-DRIVE 10 TB with USB-C which does not have fans in. They are not the fastest drives in the world but are perfect for storage of all my edits and backUps of them........and no noise. I love them. Dave Knowles - Filmmaker (DaveKnowles.net)P.S. It has a small footprint and very quiet. Looks good to.

I bought this to expand the capacity of my MacBook Pro.I have no idea what's going on but every time the harddrive boots up it creates vast amounts of noise via my monitoring system. This means I cannot use it for part of the purpose I bought it: as an audio/video drive.It has been relegated to backup.Formerly a G-Tech fan, I am, no longer.

No other hard drive i own makes noises like this... I can only hope it doesn't mean it's dying .. got it a few weeks ago.. tends to make the noises when transfering sometimes calms down sometimes constant and it's mostly just annoying sounds! Works fine though had it for a few weeks tho and is great to store old footage on as back up. I still keep everything else on another drive so this is more of a just incase one of those drives fcks up drive. But yeah noisey AF! If i knew it made these noises I would've got another drive. A plus side tho I really like the looks of this drive the light up G and the design is nice. Wins best looking drive award ;) It's actually just gone quiet now as well so fair play to it. 4 stars.

Superb high spec drive - very fast read/write speeds and a really solid build quality - highly recommended.

Bought this plugged it in to my computer (Mac) and we were off and running. I like the illuminated G logo when it is working. It is very quiet and works perfectly with Time Machine. VERY highly recommended.

I am quite disappointed how noisy and seems there is ALWAYS, even on standby, that this drive is making clicking noise as if its processing stuff ALL the time - disappointed so will have to stick with it for now but would advise to check alternative LaCie which is VERY quiet.

This item arrived with EU plugs and NO US power cord.

I wish I had read all of the reviews for this product before purchasing it. It arrived quickly, however there was not an adapter for the US. I tried using other cords and it would turn on and make noise but never showed up on my computer. I do not think it is comparable in the United States. That needs to be in the description!

Bonne capacité de stockage et facile d'emploi. Je l'utilise aussi bien avec mon mac qu'avec mon PC (après avoir lancé le petit utilitaire pré installe ce qui est très pratique. Seul bémol : le bruit ! Le disque est presque toujours en train de travailler (je ne sais pas vraiment à quoi) et le niveau sonore est gênant.

Très satisfait de ce disque, les débits sont excellents (250Mo/s en lecture et en écriture) mais il est un peu bruyant. L'avantage c'est qu'il y a un bouton physique pour l'éteindre.

Mi aspettavo qualcosa più leggero e più piccolo invece è un hard disk con case in metallo di tutto rispetto.Ottima la velocità di trasferimento file che permette addirittura di lavorare direttamente sul disco esterno, lasciando spazio sul Computer. Prezzo più che onesto se consideriamo che sono 6 TB. Ottima anche la possibilità di pagarlo in 5 rate direttamente con Amazon. Acquisto soddisfacente.
