The Steam Age Part 2
This add-on requires Railworks 3 Train Simulator 2012 installed to allow installation of this game. That I have found impossible to do as Steam reverts to TS 2013 for installation. As I can't get TS 2012 loaded then I can't install this programme

I've owned this from the day it was released via download from the people who create the package.I don't live in scotland and cannot give details about how accurate it is - But what I can offer is that this is a brilliant route and looks very very good, sounds good and runs very well [2.8Ghz dual core, 4Gb Ram, Win7_x64, 2Gb HD5450 Graphics card]The author 'Mulley' has some downloads available on his website which will allow you to replace the defauly 166 with the 170(assuming you own it).Around Ediburgh and Haymarket the Framerate does nose dive a bit - primarily I believe due to the number of AI units that are running around you. It's not *that* bad and it's incredibly easy to delete some of the AI via the scenario editor if it is a major issue. All in all a very pleasing well put together route and a patch is being worked on.

Could have been a lot better.
Giving this three stars because I bought it when it was on offer. Would only give two stars to it if full price. It is a fun route to drive, however the stations and surroundings only bear a passing resemblance to reality, which is a real disappointment. At times I did wonder if the developers had ever looked at photos of the route at all. The TS2014 Edinburgh & Glasgow Route has far better depictions of Waverley and Haymarket. Would only recommend buying this if on offer, if full price leave well alone.

Average Expansion Pack
This is not a bad route but the inclusion of several iconic structures, including the Forth and Tay railway bridges, is marred by something of an over-reliance on Kuju/RSC default assets up to and including buildings at some of the intermediate stations en route. These have been seen countless times before in freeware and other payware routes, the excessive use here perhaps an indication that the project started life as a freeware project.ScECML is notionally set in the modern day. There's quite a few scenarios bundled with the route, but the pack does not include any new or custom rolling stock - just some reskins of default items, including a totally out of place Class 166 Thames Turbo painted in a fictional "Scottish Railways" livery. Rivet counting? Perhaps - but if you are charging towards the upper end of what these add-ons cost, then some attention needs to be giving to providing some more appropriate rolling stock. MS Train Sim may be all but gone now, but most of the add-on packs released for that offered a complete package of new motive power and stock, in addition to the route. The route drives reasonably well but can drop the frame rates - even in open country where the lineside has been veritably stuffed with all that default vegetation. Some of the curves see excessively sharp for the posted speed restrictions and there are one or two issues with signalling. On the plus side, you do get quite a bit of mileage to cover and it can be quite challenging to drive as the speed limits change frequently and the driver's ability to keep time will be tested.Given the above I can't really go with more than three stars. Discussion on the train simming forums indicates a patch for some of the issues may be forthcoming, at which point I would probably rate 70 - 75%.

Should be classed Semi Fictional
I travel on this line regularly and live in Fife, i've travelled on it for many years and TBH, the scenery bears little relation to the real life scenery. Murayfeild the Forth Bridge and the Tay Bridge are good but the stations are not. In the real world Inverkeithing for instance looks nothing like the one depicted here. The frame rate get so bad in Edinburgh that the game is almost unplayable. I could forgive that if the rest of the route was even close to the real world but its its not. Very disappointed.
