It works great even on large Redfish and Sheepshead whose scales are like armor. Charge lasts a long time too. Only drawback is it throws scales everywhere, but then again that will happen no matter what you use.

This scaler saves so much time compared to manual scaling I love it! It's portable, easy to use and works great. I highly recommend it. This thing is so awesome I brought two!

Effortlessly removes scales from bluegills and perch. Works in seconds. For safety, I use a clipboard to secure the fish while operating this device. Exercise common sense around those spinning blades. Not a toy. To reach those scales between the tail and dorsal fin, simply tilt the scaler at an angle. To reach scales between tail and anal fin, turn clipboard half-around. The scaler has a toggle switch to choose direction of blade rotation. Blades should rotate AGAINST the grain of the scales. Previously, scaling fish has been a wet messy chore. This automatic scaler is battery powered, so you can use a garden hose without the fear of getting electrocuted by a shabby extension cord. The scaler has a shield over the blades which helps prevent scales from flying wildly everywhere. The kit includes a traditional manual scaler for hard-to-reach spots. So far I have scaled bluegills, crappies, yellow perch, and small bass. Have not needed the manual scaler.

Good tool for scaling fish. I wish that it was not quite as large in diameter on the handle but it is ok.

Muy buen producto. Llego rápido y bien protegido. En su comienzo pensé que le haría mucho daño al pescado, pero para nada fue el caso. Sí salta mucho las escamas pero no perjudica la carne del pescado. Muy recomendado para mejorar los tiempos en producciones.
