Held two sets of skis with poles and two snowboards for an eleven hour road trip to Colorado in my 2017 BMW X3. Worked beautifully. Noise free and still able to operate the sunroof!! The rack locks onto the OEM rails and the equipment locks into the rack. Slick system. Easy to install and load.

My skis are not overly wide so I thought this holder would work well as other BMW models have. This one doesn't work. Really useless for any newer all mountain skis.

Its a great ski rack, holds a lot of equipment, but makes a really loud, persistent, high-pitched sound when the air hits it at certain angles. That is so annoying I'd suggest you check other options.

Simple to install on BMW roof racks. Used the ski attachment for a multi day ski trip. No rattling during the long drive. My only challenge was getting it opened and closed in 10 degree, snowy weather. With practice, I'll get it right.

This ski and snowboard holder slides right into the roof support system. When driving on the highway there is no wind notice from the ski holder.
