Works as expected
The Time Lapse Camera does what it is supposed to do, not user friendly to start but once you get used to it then it is pretty good. Very sturdy and waterproof. The amount of batteries needed is a negative but depending on the shots your looking for could be well worth it.

Tricky to Figure Out, but Great Once You Do
The media could not be loaded. This Vmotal timelapse camera is definitely not intuitive or easy to use. It took me awhile to figure it out and looking up Vmotal videos on YouTube helped. If you have some special event coming up that you want to capture in timelapse, I highly recommend you try a test video or two first. My first two timelapse attempts were failures. Now that I have it figured out, I am looking forward to getting some creative timelapse content. This Vmotal camera is not cheap. If all you want to do is capture the occasional short timelapse of clouds or sunrises, then I just recommend using the timelapse feature on your phone's camera, but if you want to capture timelapse that covers days, weeks or more, or capture timelapse in harsh conditions then this Vmotal camera is worth considering.

1080P Vmotal Time Lapse Camera with Multiple Modes
The media could not be loaded. This season I've grown patio tomatoes from seed in large containers on the deck, and I wish I'd had this time-lapse camera to watch them blossom over the past few months. Now, as they begin to ripen, there's a creature in my garden (probably a bird) that frequents the deck, biting into the largest and ripest tomatoes just as they're ready to pick. Though I've been on the lookout, I haven't caught the critter in action, so I decided to use this time-lapse camera to spy on the garden raider. I'm eager to find out who's responsible. This Vmotal Time Lapse Camera is compact yet feature-rich, enabling easy capture of high-quality sequences and photos, even in demanding conditions.Waterproof with a long-lasting battery (handy since I haven't identified the culprit yet), it's ideal for recording plant growth and other subtle changes over time. During testing, I even used it to film a bagel baking, and it worked wonderfully - even displaying the room temperature. The 1080p video quality is sharp, even in dim light, and a starlight lens is included for capturing nighttime images. Multiple shooting modes add flexibility, and a built-in LED light and large LCD screen are convenient features. With an IP66 waterproof rating, this camera is built to withstand the elements, perfect for outdoor use.Setting up the Vmotal Time Lapse Camera is easy with its 2.4-inch high-definition TFT LCD screen and intuitive user interface. I was able to swiftly navigate the menus, selecting my preferred shooting mode, adjusting intervals, and choosing the 1080P format. Multiple shooting modes enhance functionality. The included brackets make mounting simple, and the camera's power, supplied by many batteries in series, ensures long-lasting operation (up to 180 days, although I haven't tested this yet). If you're not planning a long session, four batteries should suffice. With support for up to a 512GB TF memory card, there's ample storage for time-lapse or video captures. The package also includes a 32GB TF card, cleaning cloth, USB data cable, 3-foot elastic cord, 2 brackets, and a user manual.Whether you want to document wildlife, observe seasonal changes, monitor plant growth, or create unattended videos of the outdoors, the Vmotal Time Lapse Camera is an excellent choice.

Excellent
Very good for watching slow changes. 12 batteries is a lot but I am only using it for a day at a time so four will work. Interesting to monitor plants.

Fun and cool camera
I got this time lapse camera to use for multiple things. This is such a cool, fun and interesting type of camera. The picture quality and final results are really good. I got to use it to see what was going bump in the night in my backyard without spending hours viewing a camera recording. I plan on using it on a few other trial and error things. I’m not sure if I quite understand all the different battery compartments and amounts, but there is an external output for a power supply. This is a nice camera and can’t wait to use it on a really important event.

Pretty Neat, Definitely Read the Manual
This is a really neat time lapse camera that I'll be using for projects at work and to record the changing of the season over a few months. It's not user friendly and intuitive, so you will definitely need to peruse the manual a couple times. It's nice that it includes just about everything you need to get it up and running, minus the batteries (which it needs a lot of). There's an microSD and various mounting options included. Once you figure out the settings, it's very easy to use. Seems robust and has a watertight clasp mount to keep the electronics safe in the weather. You do have the option of using your own AC power cord, but it is not included.

Great camera with excellent performance!
The only thing I dislike is that this camera needs 12 batteries to perform at full potential. They're supposed to last around six months of continuous 1 picture every 5 minutes use. But, there are two battery compartments, one for 4 batteries on the camera body and another for 8 batteries on the enclosure. The camera can perfectly operate with just 4 batteries, although I don't know for how long. This is not mentioned in the instructions manual. This camera is extremely well constructed. It comes with a 32GB card and many mounting adapters for permanent or temporary setups. It has an external power port, for a power supply or solar panel. Regarding picture quality, it's very good. If night pictures are needed, be aware that if the area is not well lit, the camera will only be able to take a clear picture within the reach of the LED light on the camera, which is not very far. Overall, this is a great product.

Simple to use camera that produces decent quality videos
The media could not be loaded. The Vmotal Time Lapse Camera is a water and dust resistant camera that simplifies the process to create time lapse videos. The camera is quite large and has a plastic construction, but it feels solid and durable and has a secure latch to protect and seal camera from elements. A 32GB microSD card is included for recording, but you'll need to supply 8-12 AA batteries. I would have liked a built-in rechargeable battery but the battery life should be very good. The description claims 6 months when taking photos at 5 min intervals (or 288 photos/day).Instructions are included but they could be clearer. The menu system is not the most intuitive but you will get used to it. You basically have to select from one of 4 modes: time lapse photo, time lapse video, set timing photo and set timing video. There are also other settings including setting resolution, target recording time, loop recording and audio recording. As a warning, you will want to test out and understand how these settings work. I tried turning on the target recording time and left the camera overnight to record the night sky and found out in the morning it didn’t start recording at all. I turned off that setting and tried again the following night and was successful. In terms of quality, the 1080p full HD is good but this will not match the quality you can achieve with a flagship smartphone or a good quality DSLR or mirrorless camera. But for a dedicated time lapse camera for under $200, I also wasn't expecting the quality would compare to cameras that cost several hundred to thousands of dollars. The night sky time lapse I recorded used the following settings: - Mode: Time Lapse Photo - 1 minute interval - 30fpsRecording for 10 hours overnight, the resultant time lapse video was over 300MB in AVI format and was about 21 seconds in length. The quality was good and you can see the stars move across the night sky. I found the exposure a bit too high but Vmotal does describe the sensor as being a starlight HDR sensor. I just found the HDR was too high and there didn't seem to be any way to adjust in the settings. I think the quality would be great for daytime time lapse recordings. It is still a very fun camera to use to capture time lapse without the hassle of setting up your phone or camera with power adapters or power banks and various mounts. I literally placed the Vmotal camera on my lawn to capture night sky. It was that simple.LIKE • Long battery life • Simple to use, can place or mount camera anywhere • Multiple modes and settingsDISLIKE • Instructions not great • HDR sensor overexposes night time lapse recordings

Very good camera
I wasn't sure that to expect from this camera. I have reviewed a bunch of cameras from Amazon but none have been made for this particular use. This is a time lapse camera, and it's not meant to be for security purposes or anything like that. How I tested this was that I mounted it to my porch and left it running for a couple of days. It lasted just fine on the 4 AA batteries I put in there, and I suspect it would have lasted much longer if I hadn't needed to take it down to review it. In addition to the four AA batteries, there is additional capacity for 8 more AA batteries if you really want to film for a long period. It says on the box that with full batteries it should last months, and I believe it. Having replaceable batteries is great, especially if you plan on using this in a remote part of your property or somewhere that you don't get too often but still want to keep an eye on.Included is a 32GB microSD card which is fine if you're going to be reviewing footage every week or so. But if you plan on using this for longer periods you'll want a larger capacity card to store more footage.Reviewing the footage, I noticed that the image quality is very good. You can clearly make out most objects and people. While the time lapse continues at all times, when the camera detects motion it records in regular-speed video. When I had the camera attached to my porch, it always slowed down and captured footage of people walking by my house, as well as cars driving by and other things that triggered the motion detector. It even was able to detect a cat walking down the sidewalk across the street, so the motion detection is very good. There are multiple ways to mount this camera. It has a bunch of tripod screw holes at various points in the body for maximum flexibility. It also includes a strap so you can affix it around even a very large tree if there is a particular spot you want filmed. The body of the camera is very robust. It is plastic, but it's strong and feels like it could strand up to extreme conditions. The camera is sealed shut with what looks like a watertight seal, so no issues with rain. You can open it without taking it off its mount even when it's tied to a tree, so it's very easily accessible without a lot of fuss. It would be very easy to open it up, swap out the SD card, and close it again quickly. When I took the SD card out to see the footage, I was easily able to load it up on my iPad right off the SD card. It records video in a standard format. One overnight video with a couple of motion detected sections was just over 2GB, so again, you'll need a larger card for capturing longer periods of time.Overall Im actually very impressed with this camera. It's a very good option if you want to have a time lapse or longer-term video of a particular item in your home, or if you want to keep an eye on wildlife on your property. I can definitely recommend this camera as it has performed very well for me so far.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it right
My first impression was that this would be another attempt at a trail cam replacement, and while it certainly can be used as such, there would be a lot of things missed if it was used that way. This is NOT a motion (IR) triggered camera. It is exactly what the description says. It is a time-lapse camera. Any time you see a streaming video and it shows plants growing from seedlings to the full-sized plant or seeing how the sun rises, people come out in an urban setting and see all of the things that go on, then watch as the sun sets and the nightlife starts - that's what this camera is for and it does a great job.► The camera comes with a 32GB TF (micro SD) card which offers a lot of room considering what the camera is meant to provide.► Included in the kit are different mounting options, much like trail cameras.► Like trail cams, there is a lock loop on the clasp, which is used to open the camera body.👀 At this setting, every 180 seconds, the camera stitches the individual images into one MP4 video that has a maximum size of 2,046,501 KB (2GB), which can be played back on any number of video software options.► At the 180-second setting, each recording is for approximately 116.5 hours, just short of 5 days. The above performance impresses me. The video quality is excellent. I have it set at 1920x1080. Colour reproduction, saturation, and contrast are very good right out of the box. There is a user setting for exposure - +3 EV ~ 3.0 EV in .5EV increments.► Images are stored as JPG, and video is MP4 on the TF card, but the manual says AVI.► In the UI, there is the option to watermark with time and date stamps.► If needed, it can be set up to endlessly record. In other words, as new videos or images are captured, they will overwrite the oldest files.► There are many more options that a user can set. Too many to list here.Display:The UI is simple and easy to navigate, even without going through the manual. There are several user-selectable features to make this useful for a number of different applications. The LCD display is great when viewed in the shade or indoors, but in direct sunlight, it washes out. I simply set up the programming I want indoors and then turn the camera on once outside.► Video and images can be played back on the camera's display.Power requirements:It does need eight AA batteries. However, I have had the camera set up for over three weeks, taking an image every 180 seconds, and the control panel shows the batteries are still at 100%. The description indicates a run time of six months. I expect this will hold true in warmer climates, but in the Canadian north, where winters can get bitter cold, I expect to lose some battery life.✓ On the camera's button is a 2.5mm DC connector that allows for attaching an external power supply. It's rated 6V at 1 amp. We have a power bank with a solar panel which has a 6V output. This winter, I'll set both up and see how well things perform.° This external power connection also allows for hooking up a 6V solar panel. However, the manual has no information on whether or not rechargeable batteries could be used and with the solar panel connected that the camera would then be able to charge the batteries.Given that the camera uses eight AA batteries, it does weigh a fair bit once set up.Compared to other time-lapse and even trail cameras I've used, I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking for strictly time-lapse recording.

excellent video quality, a robust build quality
This camera offers a seamless experience for capturing stunning time-lapse footage. Let's dive into the details. It delivers excellent video quality. With its 1080p resolution, it captures crisp and vibrant footage that truly brings outdoor scenes to life. The camera's IP66 rating ensures it can withstand various weather conditions, making it perfect for outdoor use.The Vmotal Time Lapse Camera boasts an impressive 180-day battery life at photo only mode, ensuring you can capture extended time-lapse projects without constant battery replacements. This feature is particularly useful for projects in remote areas. But for myself, I like to use DC input power. The camera's timer function is easy to use and provides flexibility for capturing time-lapse sequences. There are a couple of minor drawbacks to consider. Firstly, the lack of built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity limits the camera's remote control capabilities. It would have been beneficial to have the option to control the camera or preview footage via a smartphone app. Secondly, the absence of an adjustable lens angle may limit the flexibility when it comes to capturing different perspectives.
