IRONCK hk-et-0101 Storage Bench, 39.4" W, Vintage Brown

Bench went together well, fairly easily if you built models as a kid - just pay close attention to the illustrations.It is sturdy, which is good, since I am not a light-weight! It is also very roomy. It has two compartments. One has my dog's leashes, harness, and sweaters. The other side is for my rain poncho, hats, and gloves. The rack is spacious enough for 4 pair of adult tennis shoes.What I do not like: the support for the lid is noisy when opening and closing, and not very smooth. It sounds rusty. I contacted the company asking for a replacement part and if this part required regular maintenance. They requested me to produce a video proving what I was saying. I never encountered such a resistance to replacing a part before. In fact, some vendors when I have tried to return items have just given me credit and told me to donate the item! So, this was a surprise. [update]. After I provided the video, they claimed it was "normal" for this piece, but, they would replace it if that would make me happy. So I said yes. Meanwhile, it started opening even less smoothly, and, not closing completely! Then, I got another email, saying the part was out of stock (or is it that they are wholesale distributors and don't even have parts?), and offering a complete refund, without me having to return it. so, I gladly accepted. Lid closure devices are about $20. Now to go find the right one!

Assembly is not difficult and takes around 20 minutes. It is light enough to move around as needed but still feel sturdy and the materials do not look cheaply made.

Beautiful little sitting bench and place to keep shoes.

Super easy to assembly until I got the hinges. The holes were not predrilled. I could not use screwdriver that was provided.

Not bad for the price, took me about 1.5 hours to assemble by myself. Had some missing holes for screws to go but didn’t make that big of a difference. Good product!
