Weired man; the colours man, weired.
An off the wall story, set in a fictitious location in a fictitious American dessert South of North West Nowhere, with fictitious characters, from the imaginings of a fictitious author being acted out as a stage play dress rehearsal portrayed as a movies in three acts. The dialogue is deliberatly wooden and stilted and it's all filmed in pastel colours though the behind the scenes are shots are in black and white. The story outline: Dessert rest stop near a meteor crater where a bunch of charaters come togeather for various reasons to avail them selves of the facilities, and togeather witness an alian desend from a UFO, pick up the meteorite/astriod that originally made the crater and fly off with it and what the government, in the guise of the army, does; trapping them all there while investigations are conducted. It's all very surreal and somewhat weird. What with the only colours being pastel, the sets being to small and close togeather to be real. Actors walking off set and the camera following them while they conduct their own (out of charter) life. There's a police car chase that, several times for no obvious reason, runs through with guns shooting with stant disregard to bystanders. over the horizon there's atom bomb tests going off, there is also a cute 'roadrunner' that pops up from time to time and does a cute dance in the road at the start of the credits. All very weired and trippy but if you see the funny side of it all then it's very entertaining.

Crap
Bought this for my birthday viewing with family. Single most weird and impossible film to follow ever. Can I get a refund? Only watched 30 minutes!

Style over content, beautiful looking but ultimately monotonous.
Style over content, beautiful looking and some very funny moments but ultimately quite self indulgently monotonous.

Junior Stargazers
In 1950's America in a small American desert town, a group of junior stargazers and their parents meet for an award ceremony and have a close encounter with an alien. Wes Anderson does scifi. Apart from that it's your typical odd, quirky and very funny Wes Anderson comedy movie with excellent performances from Jason Schwartzman, Scarlet Johannsson, Tom Hanks, Maya Hawke, Matt Dillon, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Margot Robbie, Edward Norton, Bryan Cranston and Steve Carrell and Adrian Brody in a movie that's also the script read through of a play in a writer's imagination.
