Emergency Helmet
So it looks a little different than normal helmets, and it gets a little warm in there. Think of it like wearing an arm floatie on your head and you should get the picture. In any case, it's great that it's inflatable and portable so there's no excuse not to bring it with you. I'd rather have a weird-looking helmet that makes my head a little warm than have a pound of concrete embedded in my head, or worse.

Promising concept, but not quite there yet
I realllllly wanted to like this helmet. I am a regular bikeshare user, frequently for one way trips with the other way consisting of a run or transit trip, so schlepping a helmet around is a real pain. I knew this helmet would not be small, but it does collapse into a shape that is much easier to transport in a pack. However, I have rarely reached for this one since I got it, except to test it. The main problem is that it's not comfortable on my fairly large head.Pros:-The helmet does, indeed, collapse into a shape I can jam into a running pack or small backpack.-The valves seem high quality. They do a good job of holding one way as they are inflated, and they deflate very quickly.-Fortunately I haven't tested the helmet, but it has passed independent testing for safety.-Cheaper than most quality helmets (although with a limited lifespan).Cons:-The helmet comes in one size. I was hoping the construction would mean it was more adjustable than a normal helmet, and maybe it is. But it is far too snug on my head to be comfortable. This is, unfortunately, a dealbreaker.-I would not buy it here. The one I received in November 2023 was manufactured in March 2022, meaning it was more than halfway into its three year post-manufacture lifespan. I'm not sure if it's sold in stores, so this might be a problem anywhere you can buy it.-Limited lifespan, even if it had been fresh. I know some other helmet manufacturers suggest replacing as frequently as three years, but five years is a more common recommendation, and the clock starts when you start using it, not when it is manufactured.-I think you only need enough inflation to make it hold its shape, but the valves are still a little awkward to blow through since they are flush to the helmet.I really hope they fine tune this product. It's pretty cheap, and I don't expect it to be as comfortable as a normal helmet, but it would be great if it were tolerable for a 30–40 minute Citibike ride. Unfortunately it's not quite there yet, at least for me. I would love to see a version 2.0 that comes in a few sizes and/or fits more comfortably, lasts a bit longer, and is sold in brick and mortar stores (maybe pharmacies or convenience stores would make sense) so I can check the manufacturing dates.

Good Helmet for Travel, Not Daily Use
I was very skeptical of this helmet, and went to the VA Tech to confirm that it actually passed their testing. It did! And videos about how VA Tech does their helmet testing convinced me that Airnoggin's 5 star review is both meaningful and real. So, it's a safe helmet. And while it looks like it might be too small for my oversize head, it stretches to fit just fine. After wearing this helmet on a couple of rides, though, I can only recommend this for use as a travel helmet for cyclists. Reason number one: there's not enough airflow through the helmet to cool my head for this to be a daily-wear helmet. Reason number two: while the helmet tries to look somewhat normal through the inflatable bladders, but it still looks pretty dorky. For infrequent/impromptu scooter users, having a portable helmet you can pop on quickly is a plus, and even an unusual-looking helmet is better than no helmet. My wife couldn't figure out how to get the inflatable valves to stay shut, but I had no problem with it. So in this area your mileage may vary.I think this helmet is best for people that ride intermittently, and when traveling. For daily riding, there are plenty of more comfortable and better looking helmets.

Interesting idea
I definitely did not like this helmet when I first put it on but after a little manipulation it became a little more comfortable. The helmet is made of 6 pieces of very ridged foam. The inflatable part is just the structure that holds them together. The helmet does not compress as much as I would like but it does take up less room than a regular helmet and it comes with its own bag and elastic strap. Overall, it seems very well made but the foam does sit directly up against my head so there no airspace for cooling. . Since there is no gap on the inside and no hard shell on the outside it seems less protective than a normal helmet. The helmet is not one that I would wear on a regular basis but it’s a good one to have as a spare.

Unusual
This helmet was too cool. It gets blown up with air. It’s approved by whatever dept approves the safety of bicycle and motorcycle helmets. It’s very light and looks comfortable to wear. I gave not gone on my scooter yet so I am reviewing it in looks and feel.
