The worst carving book I've ever bought
I bought this book as I live near the coast and thought it might give me a few ideas on what to do with some drift wood I've found. The title is misleading as it states that 'ten top carvers share techniques and inspirations.' The latter part of that statement is correct but the sharing of techniques is sadly lacking. The pictures of each carvers work are brilliant BUT there are NO techniques, or not that I understood. The book has 89 pages and has just the one project to follow. That project is similar to other books and is quite basic. I would have liked to have seen a project from each of the ten carvers NOT just the one offered by this book. All in all I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone unless you were putting a library of carving books together. So to summerise this is a nice book to look at but almost useless to use for actual carving. Fox Chapel Publishers could have and should have done a much better job. Hence the poor rating.
