Comedy DVD
Bought this for my dad for his birthday. I had forgotten just how funny les Dawson was. Great gift for people of 'a certain age' but something that we can all sit and watch. A real blast from the past

Les Sez one last time
Sez Les was the series that secured Les Dawson's reputation. Running for eleven series from 1969 to 1976, its combination of quirky sketches and monologues made him a household name.Sadly the first two series are missing from the archives, so Network's previous three volumes have collected series three to eight. Volume four has the last three series and finds Dawson's familiar characters like Cosmo Smallpiece on fine form.Roy Barraclough is a regular guest, most notably as one half of Cissy and Ada. John Cleese, who had just left Monty Python, is a regular on some episodes as well, and seems to have had a great rapport with Les. All of their appearances together are great fun.Louis Barfe, author of a recent biography of Dawson contributes an interesting booklet with plenty of background detail. The four volumes of Sez Les are a fine tribute to a much-missed comedian and writer.
