A must have accessory!
After owning my P2 for a couple of years I thought it about time I wrote a review. I actually have two of these torches (gave one to my girlfriend), one advertised as an LED Lenser and this one which is a Ledco. They are actually both identical even down to the engraved text on the body. The Ledco did come in a nice presentation box though. A minor point to mention is that the presentation boxed version is better because the pocket clip is detached rather than fitted as it was in the tester packed version. If like me you don't want to use the clip, there is a risk of scratching the paint finish when removing it. So how good is it. Well I have to say that I was immediately impressed by the amount of light it gave out. You have to remember that this is not a three D cell 'mega torch', but for something having just one AAA battery it is quite amazing. The run time is excellent having not had to replace the battery yet, though it is used more as an emergency standby than an everyday torch. It's seen us through bonfire night and some late night walks! I also have a P3 which is similar apart from the fatter lens assembly. The P3 is slightly brighter than the P2 but this is only noticeable when side by side with the P2. The P3 also has a distinct ring of light around its beam footprint, the P2 having a nicer beam shape. The P3 focusing is by pulling the front lens back and forth, the P2 is by rotation which although requires a bit more effort, has a more sure feel. I prefer this P2 over the P3 because it is less bulky, has a nicer light and just feels right. This makes it one of my favourite gadgets. It may seem expensive for such a tiny thing but it is worth it.

Very well built and versatile pen torch
I properly used the Led Lenser P4BM Pen Torch last weekend for the first time. I participated in a 2 day airsoft game and the torch came very handy during the night when w had to read maps, instructions or simply look in the backpack for snacks.Firstly, I like how this torch fits onto my chest rig molle. There is a very nice, strong pocket clip that held the torch nicely in place during the two days of running and crawling without me worrying about it falling. The torch is built from high quality aluminium that makes it very rugged. The surface of the torch is textured for extra grip and the pack included a wrist strap to avoid loosing it in case it was dropped. The light is not extremely bright but considering the intended use for the torch it's more than adequate. If it was any brighter the light reflected off the illuminated surface would blind the user. Also, in my case, it would have given away our position. The tail switch is covered by a rubber protective membrane and has a nice click when turning it on and of. The beam can be zoomed in and out by twisting the torch head. The cap has an o ring to prevent water and dust from getting inside the torch, which is always a bonus.Given my experience with the Led Lenser P4BM Pen Torch I have to say that I am 100% satisfied and do not regret buying it.If you're a mechanic, electrician, paramedic or anything in between and need a small and reliable torch this is the one for you.

Excellent product & great value
This works well, has a good quality light & nice simple adjustment. I use it for looking at living tissues. Not sure if the blue moon thing is just a gimmick, but if it works I don't mind. This was a really good value pack (imho):-It came with 2 sets of batteries- 1 already in the torch as it was a 'test-it pack', plus a spare set. Due to it coming from a ginormous warehouse (& not a high street shop where kids will play with it), I presume that it has not been tested much, so both sets of batteries should be full!-mini belt holster-soft cord lanyard-pocket clip-keyring-mini carabiner-that should cover most ways that people wish to use it!It also has 2 flattened areas on the barrell, one with the brand on, but one blank, so this would be an area that could be engraved if one so wished.Certainly appears to be well made with a quality feel to it. The only parts that seem a little thin/flimsy to me are the battery contacts. But, as these are enclosed, plus the battery is unlikely to be changed very often, this may never become an issue. Not had it long so cannot comment on longevity, but I will update this if anything fails. The switch seems to be solid enough with a nice action, so hopefully will last.Lenser: What I would personally wish for is a version of this in the P/BM range that takes just 1 or 2 AA batteries

Good torch Insane packaging
So I needed a new Penlight for my tool kit, lots of choices out there so check list - LED (Tick), Batteries included (Tick), Not to expensive (Tick), good quality (Tick). List done, trawl the list produced and BINGO the Ledlenser P4 steps into the limelight. It came on time and that's where I start to have issues. Not with the Torch (excellent, powerful, lightweight, simple) it even came with additional spare AAA batteries a belt pouch and a strap. Good Value even if you don't need or use the strap or pouch. However, my issue is with the packaging! As a hater of over packaging and waste this pushed ALL of my buttons, the layered Blister pack (Card-Plastic-plastic Card) was the toughest thing I have ever had to open in my 50 years, beautifully presented with a complicated torch test lever that would allow you to test flash the torch but precisely engineered to prevent it from turning on fully( presumably to prevent in-store activations that would waste the batteries). The plastic pack was extremely heavy duty and ended up using a super sharp lock-knife risking arterial redecoration at any moment. Finally I was in and discovered the ream of paper in 300 different languges describe how to use this torch (I actually felt insulted that I might need such a thing) then there was the various registration Q-codes and other disposal sheets - basically an entire tree had been pulped and shoved tightly into the packaging. Ridiculous! Ledlenser you make a nice torch but German over engineered precision and idiotic EU directives make a mockery of it.
