New and seasoned journalers alike will benefit
As a working therapist, I am very pleased with the content and structure of this book. I have long been an advocate of journaling, and believe this book is a great starter for those who've never really journaled, as well as being an enhancer for well-seasoned journalers. I've already recommended this to others, and plan to incorporate some of the exercises into my practice for those who wish to use journaling as coping and/or self-development tool. I will also be using this for myself as a long-time journaler who wants to take my self-exploration and personal development to another level. Ms. Grason notes she is not a therapist, but her very intuitive and sensitive approach demonstrates her innate and empathic ability to delve and connect. It's an easy and enjoyable read, and can be done in small chunks if time is an issue, or if you prefer to work on the exercises a little at a time. What do you have to lose? The potential gain of insights about yourself may bring life-long benefits.

Journalution ...
I have tried on a few occassions to start a journal. I also found myself writing about what I had done that day ... nothing I couldn't have written in my sleep. I can't say enough about this book. It's taken me back to my childhood and allowed me to forgive wrongs that I hadn't given myself a chance to think about. I thought I had nothing interesting inside myself .. but I was so wrong. If I miss a day I can feel a weight pulling at me. There is not enough words to tell you what a load of emotions I have felt since starting my journalution. Sandy Grason is amazing. If she can do this for me, she can do it for everyone. If you feel that nothing good can happen for you, get this book. It will open your eyes, heart, and most importantly your mind. You will realize what I did, once you let all the emotions come to the surface, you start to heal. One journal entry she asks you to try to do everyday is to list seven things you are grateful for ... I am grateful for Sandy Grason and "Journalution".

Uncovering Insight
At first, this seemed a little too touchy feely for me. I was looking for something with prompts that would really help me see my blind spots and work through things on my own, and at first I wasn't sure this would work. But I have tried some of the prompts and found that they really do produce interesting results, and it's been fascinating to see what my mind pours out when I use them. The text between prompts is also very positive and optimistic - I find this comforting and it helps me feel more eager to make the time to keep journaling.

Wonderful tool for facilitating personal change
There are tons of self help books on Amazon, most of which toots the same advice and few, in my experience, provide any lasting help. This book is different. Its a book designed to get you started on journaling or to strengthen the habit if you are already an avid writer. It centers around short writing exercises, each of which helps you deepen your understanding of your self, your past and your vision for the future.I have found it to truly helpful in making hard personal change. If you stick to it, do all or most of the exercises, then you will eventually get a richer personality and a better view of what you must do in order to achieve the things you truly want. Highly recommended

THANK YOU AMAZON, for fixing the typo!
Thank you, Amazon, for fixing that dreadful typo in the title! You ROCK!Just to thank you, I am going to buy another book! And another... and another... oh, and one more...---------------------------------------Please, please, PLEASE fix the typo in the title of this book on your website! The bad spelling totally negates the purpose of the book. It is called "JOURNALUTION"- got that? A take on the word "revolution"? NOT "JOURNALUSTION"!! It came through on my Kindle with that execrable typo intact.I'm really not the Spelling Police, or the Typo-Nazi, but I am begging you. FIX IT. This is a lovely book and the author deserves way better! And-- YIKES! There it is again, at the top of this review!!That said, this is a wonderful guide for journal-writing, whether you're new to it, or (like me)have been writing for 46 years! The author, bless her, never falls into the familiar and ever-so-annoying "Do it THIS WAY" routine; rather, she offers guidelines that will enable you to enjoy your writing.

The Future of Personal Journaling
I really enjoyed this take on bettering one's self through journaling. It helps you to become your own life coach (with aid from your Therapist if need be). I bought a used copy through Amazon & was pleasantly surprised when it came and was signed by the author! Not only does this book help you to choose your work space, whether physical journal versus computer journaling, but it also helps get past that horrible first page terrors of 'I am totally going to screw this up and ruin this book'. It also purposes better communication with your spouse or significant other through journaling and sharing. There are a few writing prompts to get you started, but nothing too intimidating!

Love it
I am a selp-help book junkie. In reading this one, even while still in the foreword, I see the words that state that neither this, nor any other book will come to rescue you, you need to dig to find the answer. It feels refreshing to dump the drama in my head out onto a piece of paper, to start dissecting it, to help me better move through life.As Ms. Grason talks about, there is no right amount of time to put into it. The more I do it though, the more I feel connected to my life. As she points out, you probably won't be enlightened after the first page you write, but you will evolve, and you certainly will, over time. This book is worth checking out, and worth putting the work into to get a new perspective on your life.
