This kind of fly trap works very well for me.
I HATE flies. Although my cat eats what he can catch, there's always a few survivors. This kind of trap works well if it's hung near a light or window. It's unobtrusive, small enough so that you won't be running into it if you have low ceilings and it has a little cup at the bottom that will prevent any desiccated fly parts from breaking off and sifting down onto your stuff. Although I wouldn't say its attractive, it is at least neat and makes a try at dignity.I use it in fairly low fly traffic area, if you have tons of flies you might want something bigger. But this one works perfectly for my needs.

Catchmaster works
I have been fighting a fly infestation for the past week. I didn't know whether I should buy a zapper or traps. I really don't need any more stuff around here than is necessary so I decided to try buying traps to see if it would solve the problem. Catchmaster did not let me down!! I bought one pack of these traps and also two Victor M380 fly magnets. Within 24 hours of setting them up, the Catchmaster traps have caught almost all of the flies. Between the two Victor fly magnets, only one fly was caught. The traps were placed in the same area so I don't think it was a matter of location. Thank you Catchmaster!!

Look good but arrived used
These look like they will work very well. Very sticky and gooey. However, two of the sticks had been previously used and came with a collection of flies and a couple other bugs. It's not something I expected to get used, no discount was offered for used sticks. The good thing is that they didn't charge me extra for the flies already on them.I gave them a good rating based on the product, but glad I don't have to rate the service and customer care.

Sturdier than tape
Reviewing these after 3 months in a mild winter. The attractant does well for the gnats, but not really for common houseflies. We left the caps on at each end. We added some leftover turkey fat from Thanksgiving into the caps. Now there are a lot more flies on the trap. I would continue bating these with some kind of meat (fat, skin, or jerky) as that seems to do the trick. We have another brand to try out as well. I am going to guess as it warms up, we'll be seeing more flies on the traps. The benefit of the sticks, especially in a windy region, is they do not fly away or get tangled like traditional tapes. You can tie them down at both end if need be. Again, the attractant does help with gnats, but I'm sure some dried fruit or meat in the caps will do better. This is also something you can not do with typical tapes.

DON'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU CATCH MORE THAN FLIES
This is my 3rd year of using this product. It works. However, there is a learning curve... and I tried to straighten it out on my first attempt and it didn’t work out too well.We have an outdoor shed with a feeding area set up for a barn cat. Wrens avoid cats so the chance of a wren getting caught is remote at best.Last summer, my wife was feeding the cat and got her hair stuck in one of my traps. I’ve not heard the end of that calamity yet.As Clint Eastwood would say, “Hang ‘em High.”BEWARE: These tubes are extra STICKY and the bait is extra STINKY.Wear disposable nitrile or latex gloves and have a pair of utility scissors handy. The little plastic hooks are too small to hang on anything much bigger than a string...and trying to do so will increase your chances of getting stuck. If you try to hang one on a nail, make sure your nail is at least a foot long or the trap will get stuck on whatever the nail is embedded in. In other words, nails don’t work out too well.I make my own hangars out of wire, about 4 inches long, with a small hook for the fly catcher and a large hook to hang over a rope that stretches above the cat feeding table. I use my homemade hooks to pull the trap out of the box which keeps my hands from getting sticky stuff on them. It’s good to have a place about waist high to hang the traps while you are adding the bait. If you attempt to balance them on the base cup, there’s a good chance it will fall over before you finish adding the stinky bait. Before you can blink, you are stuck in stink. And once you are stuck, you are out of luck.Cut the putrid bait packets open with scissors and gently squeeze it into the lower cup on the trap. Last year, I tore a packet open with my fingers. When I started squeezing the packet, the YUK targeted me instead of the cup. A big green, hairy fly fell in love with me before I could get back to the house to take a shower. It seems that when several insects get stuck and start screaming for HELP in bug language, it attracts more bugs. By the end of the summer, my loaded traps resembled gourmet hors d’oeuvres at an entomophagists convention.Enough already of the stinky stuff. Don’t get caught in your own trap.

Does not work at all.
This is flypaper in a cylinder with some sort of crystals flys are supposedly attracted to. Marketed as effective against drain bugs, flys and all manner of flying pests. It dramatically failed to perform. One would think that just by chance, one of the drain bugs plaguing my room would have landed on this. It did on more standard fly paper I had out, with no bait. Not one.OK....so maybe drain bugs are tougher to nail than flys. I put this in my garage for a couple of weeks. Again...not a single fly.Eventually, I replaced it with something far more effective and dangerous. A half filled bottle of liquid with something rotten in it. I think it was powdered egg and some sort of yeast in the packet for this device. All I know is it smells awful a week later and the jar is filled with hundreds of flys. This concoction is very dangerous as I say. Last year, I used it. Very effective right up until the day it spilled. The gold stick does nothing.

Great price!
These work the best - and isn’t as unsightly as those nasty ribbons. I live in cow country so these are a must. Very expensive and hard to find in stores because of high demand. I will order these from now on.

The stick works great if you can get the flys to land on it.
This product would be great if the fly atractant worked better. Its very sticky, so if a fly lands on it hes not going anywhere. The problem is getting them to go to it.
