This is my go to brand of kava, I've tried other brands but this is my favorite by far!! The quality of the product is consistent bag after bag! My favorite type of kava is this Pouni Ono as it is great for day time use and doesn't promote drowsiness! Mild flavor as well.

After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to trying this kava and it was a plus that it comes in a 1kg bag as I drink it often. After ordering, I received an empty package from Amazon and had to be refunded, but I didn’t take any stars off for this as I don’t know that it’s the kava companies fault or Amazon’s. This has never happened to me before with anything else so it was odd. My next order was shipped quickly and I received it the next day.When the kava arrived it seemed generally normal, but the grind seemed a bit coarser than other brands and there was a fair bit of plant matter unground in the bag. We prepared it the same way we always do (mesh strainer, hot water) and the color turned out browner and muddier than what I am used to with Fijian kavas. The taste of this kava has quite a funk, I can’t explain it but it’s not as smooth as Fijian Waka and I found it difficult but not impossible to stomach. As far as effects go, I found this Tongan kava to be milder than the Fijian kava I normally purchase.All in all, I can’t give it a bad review as this is my first try with Tongan kava, and the bag remains in my cabinet for later use… I just have it tucked behind my go-to bag of Fijian kava. If you are a beginner I wouldn’t recommend this kava, definitely go for something milder. But if you are a seasoned kava drinker this is a nice addition to have on hand for daytime and in such a large quantity, it will last a while.

Edit: Last couple times I received this kava it didn't give me the uplifting effect it once did when I first tried it. For instance the last kilo I purchased was more of a balanced Tongan rather than Heady like Pouni Onos usually are. Now I see the price has went up. As well as seeing more and more bad reviews. Whoever's making the decisions for this company and running the quality control to verify the supplier is sending them kava like they once supplied is hurting the company and dropping the ball. The price point and quality they once offered was why I bought the kava. It's a shame that price has went up and quality or consistency has went down. I hope things go back to how they where. Until then I'll stick to my main supplier on Amazon whos family also runs the farm back in Fiji of the kava they distribute and sale in The US..Original review: Good heady daytime kava. One of the better daytime Kavas on Amazon. Just wish it was a bit cheaper. But have seen all vendors go up a little. Even the cheaper American vendors over the last year or two unfortunately.

Gave me wicked nausea and it's crazy expensive for not a whole lot to gain.Edit: I was given a full refund, these guys obviously seem to take the time to take care of dissatisfied customers. So I recommend you check it out, just be aware that you might get nauseous from it, I've never tried kava before trying this product so that might also be apart of my issue with the product. Thank you guys for doing your best to rectify my dissatisfaction!
