They're Papaya branches.
Other's have commented on the amount of stems in this "tea" and I agree, there are many. I don't know, are we supposed to use the stems as well? I love teas and have had many, and this seems more like a good way to make use of the whole plant, and I'd go 4 stars if there were less stems. The flavor is unique, and very subliminal, it takes awhile to steep the stems/leaves and even then it's not very flavorful. Adding Honey does bring out the sweetness and fruitiness a touch, not much though. It's a good size bag in decent packaging, but it is hard to reseal, and it'd just be easier if there weren't so many stems. How else do you fit it in a tea bag or ball without doing all the harvesting work? If my dealer gave me this I'd deny it. It's interesting, but not quite an amazing new tea I'll look forward to everyday. 3/5

Earthy, milder flavor tea
I have both had this tea after forgetting it for a while and after letting it steep for about 5-10 minutes and there are some fairly noticeable differences. If you let it in too long, while I don't find it bitter, it develops a more earthy and nutty flavor, especially compared to other natural teas like guava leaf tea. It is very similar to pasiflora tea but while pasiflora has some prominent natural taste, this seems to be also a milder form of it.Overall, if you are looking for this tea because of you think papaya would be sweet, I would look towards guava tea. This is more earthy and nutty.

Yikes! Leave out the stems, and expect a "tanic" brew
I think based on other reviews... leave out the stems. I brewed just the leaves. It still has a sort of "tanic" flavor like grape leaves or perhaps horseradish leaves, except a little bit more fruity.I normally drink crazy strong tea, but that's with milk/sweetener. Even in black teas there are some that I find too "tanic" when I brew hard, and end up mixing them with other teas. So, I'd mix it with other tea next time to try to balance it out.

Not Very Sweet Very Bitter
I did not follow directions on bag. It states to simmer 15-20 minutes, turn off heat and steep 5-10. The listing states just steep a teaspoon a few minutes. Regardless I put it in my diffuser in the tea pot and poured hot water over and steeped 3 minutes. Mild color. Bitter mild flavor. I cut/tore the leaves from stems. I chewed a tiny piece, and it is very bitter. I never tried papaya tea before so I can't compare the taste, but this is not my cup of tea. Maybe I will use for soap. Read up the benefits and see if worth using for that. Comparable in price and quantity of similar styles and brands. 3-year shelf life. Nutrition facts, directions and usage on package.

Drink for the health benefits
Yerbero Premium Papaya Leaf Loose Tea comes in a nice resealable bag. Simply place about 4 leaves (I wasn't sure of the exact amount because the leaves are in large clusters) and let them seep in boiling water for about 15 minutes.I did not care for the taste because it is a little bitter but that does not take away from the health benefits. I will not list those here because I don't think I should give medical advice but if you search for the benefits you can read them for yourself.

Ohh it’s a bit bitter
It says use 4 to 5 leaves to boil a cup of water, but I just pinch off how much I think is appropriate for the amount of water I have. I usually don’t put any additives in my tea but this tea was a little bitter tasting so I added some honey. Even with the honey, it was still bitter and not very pleasant tasting. I guess dried papaya is a bit bitter naturally. I just wasn’t aware of that prior.

Mild Tea
I always enjoy trying teas that I’m not familiar with, and making tea from dried papaya leaves is a new one on me. It produces a mild pale tea, without any strong taste that some other darker teas might have. While it’s as good to drink as any other tea, I just don’t see why it’s any better.

Very stemmy
Had a lot of stems. The tea itself is light in color and mild in taste. If you steep too long, it will be bitter and gross. I only steeped for about 2 minutes and it was delicious.
