Exactly what I was looking for! Beware, though, this edition does not come with illustrations - as barnes & noble fairy tale collections usually do. A small price to pay, if we are to consider that, this allows to give more space to the stories themselves. And if anything this collection seems very inclusive! So far, I prefer these tales to those of the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Andersen. Then again, this most likely has to do with personal preferences. If you like fairies, gnomes, witches, fairy doctors, giants, pranks and ghosts, look no further! Here is a reference list, just to know from where this collection derives its content

Really interesting book collating Irish folk tales beautifully presented I love this book

Good read

To be honest I didn't really know what I was buying when I got this. It's turned into an awesome miss-buy. I bought this for my newborn son thinking there would be cute nursery stories and rhymes in there. That it is not. But I've still read the entire thing and enjoyed every second of it. Must buy.

A perfect book for an admirer of the Irish culture such as I.

Que livro maravilhoso! É uma daquelas edições que embelezam as estantes, com capa e folhas de alta qualidade. As histórias são intrigantes! Um compilado do folclore irlandes, com grande acerso de histórias de fadas "a moda antiga" (não fadas boazinhas daquelas cunhadas por Disney ou livros infantis, mas do folclore popular antigo, que lhe atribuía características boas mas tbm ruins, personalidades as vezes caprichosas e maldosas). Vale ressaltar que é um compilado de contos do povo e múltiplos autores irlandeses. Não é um livro de "um autor". No mínimo, uma leitura muito interessante! Mas pra um quem gosto de fantasia, é muito mais que isso! Super recomendo!
